What's new

Game Thread Mar 11, 2023 05:00PM MT: Jazz at Hornets

Added to Calendar: 03-11-23

Who was this THT imposter, we should wave THT and sign this THT lookalike he’s way better.

All of a sudden he’s weaving in and out of double/triple teams with the tightest handles I’ve ever seen, and throwing passes for dunks in tight windows and sniping from deep. THT doesn’t do that stuff.

Are we supposed to take this 37-pt, near triple-double from THT seriously? You have to hand it to the Jazz. They're absolutely getting the most value they can from the players on their roster. Seems like just about everyone has improved. (Well, except Dok.)

What a surprising game. I dont know what I just watched from THT. He was everywhere and carried us like no tank commander ever should.

Not all that surprised we won. After last game someone said in quotes that Hornets are a money-laundering scam of a franchise and I can see that now.

I think 1 game may be too small of a sample to declare THT the MVP and Lauri a bust. Remember THT had 1 40 point game for the Fakers and Lauri has been consistently great this year.

While I'll gladly take any W at this point, this was obviously the outlier of outliers. We were facing a tanking team and Clifford seemed pretty content to let a red-hot THT just rip apart his defense while facing a single coverage and zero ball pressure. I mean... I understand NBA teams like to play the percentages and not overreact to a historically inefficient dude who happens to be on a heater, but when that guy is absolutely killing you and shows no signs of stopping, at some point you've got to think about taking the ball out of his hands, right? That is... IF you're pulling out all the stops to win.

As much as Hardy has gotten crap from non-tankers this season for inexplicably playing a pu-pu platter of G League scrubs in the 4th quarter, this game was really on another level as far as tanking goes. Being a Charlotte fan must be hell.

It was also a rare case of a whole game taking place in Bizarro NBA. THT played like an undisputed 1st option - he had TONS of possessions where he didn't even pass the ball - and that probably won't happen ever again, for a variety of reasons.

Anyway, kudos to the guy. The stars aligned for him and he made the most out of his opportunity.

Finns comments will be funny after this one.
As it seems that you are a bit salty towards us Finns, lets rub it in. The direct translation of Jazzinho from Finnish to English is Jazz-disgust. ;)

But yeah, this was a cold cold night for Lauri. Then again, mind-blowingly, this was close to Lauri's career average before the time with Jazz. That is if you disregard the inefficiency.

I think I called it out after trade dead-line that as this team is, its a .40 team the rest of the season. Im sticking with that. Regarldess what the fans want, the team will do everything they can to get in play-in. I am on-board the idea that tanking would be the sensible thing to do at this point. Even if I fcking hate tanking.

The one and only good thing that ever came out of Bull's tanking was that Kilpatrick got the nickname Killdraftpick. :D

Yesterday THT inspired me and began rooting for the jazz mid way through the 3rd quarter, then the hornets made a big run in the 4th getting down by 6 then went back to rooting for that L. That was a devastating loss for the tank

The funny part is the Hornets don't even need to tank anymore and they still suck bad without Melo smh
We should have lost this game the way THT played hero ball, but hey at least he boosted his trade stock if MJ wants him -bye
