I didn't take up for him at all. I said he's dumb. Not sure how what you asked is relevant to what I said, but it's okay, we agree.
 
I now have a reason to hate Marcus Smart. I hope he is picked by the Lakers and ends up being the biggest bust of the draft.
 
The only thing that makes sense to me is that he: 1- Is a liar 2- Starts unnecessary drama 3- is a bad shooter.
If I was to guess he either has a guarantee from Orlando. Boston or Lakers. With a stipulation that he won't work out for the Jazz and possibly other teams? All I know is he seems like a punk, especially now.

Or it could be a clever CYA move. If they Jazz pass on Mr. Piece of Crap at #5 and he eventually turns out to be the next DWade, Jazz brass can defend themselves by saying they tried their best but he simply did not want to play for the Jazz.
 
How much of this could be blamed on Smart's agent? He's looking at where Smart has best opportunity to start and get playing time.

Jazz interviewed Smart in Chicago. And Perrin called Smart after the tweet to let him know the Jazz have interest. In the past, Jazz have drafted guys without ever having them in for a workout.
