Mark Jackson Pays Tribute to John Stockton

With all the talk about Mark Jackson being a douche bag and the dude that tried to take over the locker room and turn it against John and Karl, I found this really interesting. Go to the 27:54 mark of the video and you'll see Mark Jackson's high praise of Stockton.

This explains it in depth. No surprise the main malcontents were Stevenson, Jackson and Amaechi. Pretty telling when Jackson is specifically asked how he feels being third on the list behind Stockton and Magic, talks about Johnson, but never says a word about John. Whatever four letter "unprintable" word Locke used to describe Jackson, he earned it.

"Sloan reached a breaking point in mid-January, when he lost his temper over the divisiveness on his team and stormed out of the gym during practice. He was threatening to retire then and there, only to be dissuaded at an emergency meeting called by team owner Larry Miller" Looks like Jerry has always been a drama queen.

Talktin Stocktin.

Nope. He just wanted complete control over the team and if player(s) didn't like it, they should be the ones to hit the road. And in this case, he was absolutely right.

Same thing. That Sloan was absolutely refusing to let players run the asylum. Too many owners acquiesce to whatever their star wants. Like the report Anthony met with Dolan to decide the fate of Woodson. Or how CP3 forced the LA Clippers to bring in Rivers before he signed a new contract. Sloan was a HOF coach, not some wet-behind-the-ears, recently promoted assistant. He EARNED the right to be right, whether it was dealing with a has-been like Jackson, lazy-*** like Amaechi, jailhouse tatted thug like DeShawn - I put that in for carolinajazz :-) - or a prima donna like Deron who felt he could run his own plays and call his own number whenever he damn well felt like it.

Utah's model has always been to facilitate a trade if/when a player no longer wants to be with the team. Happened with guys like Arroyo, Giricek. And Jazz were willing to release Bell from his contract anytime he wanted. They just didn't feel he should be double-paid.

Can we change the title of this thread to "Mark Jackson paid for a soundbite"
