Marvin Williams 2 years 14 mill to the hornets

I like Marvin, but that's more than I'd have been willing to pay him. How the Hell did DeMarre Carroll only get a 2 year 5 million contract? I wish the Jazz would have matched that deal.

So the choice would have been Gordon at 4 year 63mil or Marvin at 2 year 14 mil.
Would anyone have taken Marvin?

I like Marvin (lived in the same building as him and DeMarre 1.5 years ago and talked to them both fairly often but mostly Marvin since we are both Seahawks fans and grew up in Wash), but damn, this market is gnarly.

For me, this is DL's biggest head-scratcher. And, I think JYD was out volunteering his time with Junior Jazz while he was getting passed by.

They must not have watched the second half of the game film. Dude completely disappered in the second half most of the time. He'd have an awesome first quarter, and then pretend to be a threat for the rest of the game while producing nothing. I did like him, good guy, but not worth near seven per year. Good luck Marv.

On a related note, don't we want to develop Hood instead of Marv? Sure, Marv pretended to be a PF, but put a little meat on Hood and they aren't that different in size, and their game seems similar. Future.

JYD was not that great a shooter. He was high energy but took a lot of chances on defense. The fact Quin helped turn him into a solid starter gives me hope for the youngsters on our team. I'd much rather have Hood and his sweet stroke (despite his game tonight).

I really think Lindsey was expecting Corbin to play Hayward at SF with Burks the starter at SG when he "won" the battle to rebuild by making the GS deal. No one but Ty foresaw Jefferson playing 27 mins/per. Besides, the whole idea of a "tank" is to have a weak bench. And, as a backup forward Jazz also had Marvin Williams, who was expecting to play SF.
