What's new

Marvin Williams shouldn't even play a minute.....let alone start

I don't know what Corbin's problem is. Williams is absolute trash. Worthless as a player, and counterproductive to the success of our franchise in the future. It's obvious he can't produce in the Jazz system (whatever that is) and has repeatedly shown to be inept in countless starts. What's even more embarrassing is that Corbin continually trots him out to start the second half as well despite piss poor/non-existent first half efforts.

Reason 1,492 Ty Corbin is an incapable NBA head coach. It was obvious from the get go, but what are we approaching now? 2 years on the job? It's a shame I can't root for the Jazz because I enjoy watching so many players on the team play. It's just not worth giving a hoot with that bumbling, stumbling moron mucking everything up on the sidelines. God only knows what's going through Favors' head right now...... The kid has vast potential, has had his ups and downs, and on a night where he's dominant he gets yanked when it matters most. Hopefully his psyche is far stronger than his moronic coach's.

If I see Greg Miller on the street I'm going to let him know he's humiliated an entire fan base by his negligence and is consequently spitting on his father's grave by driving this franchise into the dirt with Corbin at the helm.

Agreed, but for the Jazz to have any chance this year we have to unlock the secret to making Marvin productive.

I kinda feel like Marvin and Foye's off nights are Earl's problem.
When defenders don't guard Earl, they rotate to Marvin or Foye. I think Mo's return will help a lot. Earl just needs to ftgo

I'm not sure why people are shocked Marvin Williams is still starting 60 games into the season. Last season it was Josh Howard and CJ at the SF position. The only difference is first Howard, then CJ got injured and that paved the way for DeMarre to start the final 9 games - in which the Jazz finished 7-2. (Not that DeMarre was the primary reason for that success but he helped because he wasn't a volume shooter and w/out that host stretch Utah finishes 9th or 10th). Of course Josh Howard returned to the starting lineup for the playoffs against the Spurs.

What I like about Marvin is that he's usually a solid defender (he struggled tonight) and he doesn't force shots (obviously tonight he couldn't make a single shot and they were all wide-open). I feel like he knows his limitations and doesn't play outside of them, unlike CJ and Howard did at times last season. Yes he's playing poorly right now, but as we've seen over the past couple seasons that alone is not reason enough to bench a veteran player like him.

Marvin is really hurt by the fact that there are nearly 0 fast break opportunities created by a PG pushing tempo. He is getting open shots, but can't hit anything due to lack of confidence. I think Mo will create easy buckets in transition for Marvin and that will get him going.

Foye is really hurt because he is the only guy you have to guard on the perimeter for the starters.

No we don't. Why?

We don't have to run this stupid *** 10-11 man rotation and even minutes for everyone

Give Burks, Hayward, Carroll, Favors, Kanter all 38 minutes. And start them together

Give the rest to Whoever. preferably not watson and marvin. I'd give the rest of the minutes to Mo , Al, Paul, foye, and Jeremy.

I guarantee we would be better. Then some of nights we could give garbage minutes to our scrubs instead of putting us in a hole and making us claw our way back in it. This isn't that hard. The thunder dont bring Ibaka and Westbrook off the bench and give them limited minutes. Why the hell are we doing it to some of our best players? Its retarded.

This is just so stupid that this even has to be discussed or that it is even an issue.

Give zero minutes to watson and marvin and we are a better team. I'd stake my ****ing life on it.

...how about send him into a strip club at 2 am......and see what happens? Perhaps a DUI, an arrest, a gun violation, and then a mandatory league suspension???

If we sit Marvin who moves into his starting spot? He has played so ****ing bad lately, but I like the idea of not starting all 5 of your best players. I like Hayward, Demarre, and Burks coming off the bench. Thats a pretty lethal bench lineup when you add Favors and Kanter. Marvin may be starting still but his minutes are dropping at least.

In other news...

The heat should bring Lebron James off the bench because then the bench would be lethal.

How about this.

Lets worry about forming a good starting line up first, before worrying about the bench. It would seem to me that would be more important. Whats the point of putting a dog starting line up out there that puts you in a hole every time?

Its not like he is playing 40 min a game, Burks and Carrol have played more than him the last 10 games. You could answer the ?, or be a dummy and talk out of your ***.

Now I ask, who is the dummy here. This isn't game 10, when Burks and Carroll were not getting any minutes. This is game 60 when Marvin and company have sucked the royal wazoo for it seems like forever. Use you common sense.

Hey idiot. Do I really have to answer the question? Carrol starts for Marvin. You are as dumb as Corbin.

Hey you like that? Calling names? Fun huh?

How about they focus on putting together one good line up. Marvin and Watson screw up the first line up so bad that it makes it worthless. Then our second group has to save their asses. I'd rather build a lead with a good line up, then let the second group lose the lead. At least we wouldn't be down at that point where the first group comes back in. No other team in the league is putting their best players in the 2nd unit. Its stupid. You put one at the most if you ever do. Ala ginobli. Not 4 or 5.

Derrrrrrrrr

Grow a brain moron.

Dont ever call me names a again (edited by moderator)

It doesn't seem to bother Carroll. You guys are just making excuses for Marvin. He has done very little to earn his minutes.

Again it doesn't seem to bother Carroll. Maybe Marvin just doesn't have the mental ability to make adjustments. Foye is just inconsistent and should be used when he is hot and benched when he can't throw it in the ocean.

It's good to see the train i started driving nearly full of passengers. Marvin is not NBA starter material. He really isn't NBA quality rotation either. On a good team at least.
Harris turned out to be a steal for them. As i've said I don't blame our front office for trying something. It was a worth the gamble, but the time to move on has long past.
