It's the thrill. Once you have everything you want, you can buy literally anything and often anyone, then what excitement is there in life anymore? Drugs and gambling give you the dopamine hit that buying your 5th Ferrari just doesn't do anymore. It is insane that these multimillionaires get tempted to do such things. Just pure greed.
I think cases like this against these players and like the original one against that official years ago are sacrificial lambs to keep the spotlight off the shady dealings of the billionaires. True scapegoats. We need the FBI to be the ones who investigate the money the Clips gave Kawhi under the table.
Not to say this is a good thing for the league (it’s not), but you’ll leverage whatever you can whenever you can, and at least this will be able to bury out the Kawhi story where they can slow walk it until nobody cares. The play here will be to shift this onto rogue players/coaches and try to save reputation of the league, who’s jumped into bed with sports betting. We need the FBI to be the ones who investigate the money the Clips gave Kawhi under the table.
Well for a hurt player and guaranteed #1 pick in the upcoming draft. Quid pro quo.I think it goes a lot deeper than just a couple players or coaches. Once the Lakers got Luka for a hurt player, I stopped trying to convince myself that the NBA isn't rigged.
This is true, however it sure looks like Billups is also an unnamed conspirator in the Rozier indictmentI'm not in a place I watch the video, but read that Billups was arrested for fixing poker games while Rozier was arrested for providing inside information for sports betting.
