Utah was crashing BEFORE Deron and Sloan left. Just look at what the record was after that 27-13 start up until Sloan got fed up with Deron's petulance and KOC traded the whiny bat turd. Even WITH Deron (or Sloan), the Jazz would have struggled to finish .500.
 
I'm just saying. Deron and Sloan are two of the best things to happen to the Jazz, and now they're gone.

Think about it like this.

Had Utah never had Deron or Sloan to begin with, it'd be worse off.

He's not even in the top 20 of local team announcers who are total homers IMO.
 
I don't understand this whole "local announcers are homers" thing. Of course they are! Or rather, they better be seeing as they work for the team. I don't want neutral, well-balanced commentary, I want someone who's going through the same emotions I am.

A frequent target for this on the net is Tommy Heinsohn. Apparently, he's biased towards the Celtics. No way! He's only been with the organization for 55(!) years. Surely he ought to be a Knicks fan or something.
 
I actually blame Boler for baiting Harp on the bad jokes. It was usually Boler that started with the Fry sauce, rookie of the year, the weight contest, etc. I think he is good when he sticks to basketball. Let's hope Boler stops baiting Harp and they stick to BBall.

100% agree.

I personally am fine with Matt, and like him way more then Boone. I don't like the color commentators to talk about obvious plays and beginner basketball like most do. I like that Matt says what he thinks, and says things like we need to take a hard foul to send a message and other not politically correct things that most announcers wont say. He seems to have fun with the broadcast and isn't duel like most home announcers are. Maybe i'd get sick of him if I had to watch home games on TV but as it is I only have to watch him on the aways games so I don't get sick of him. I do hate the fry sauce **** tho.
 
Matt's fine. I liked him as a player and I like him as an announcer. All he's doing is filling dead time trying to be entertaining. He has a good attitude and a positive outlook.

I like Harpring as an announcer (but I'm a Harpring Homer, so my vote shouldn't count)
 
I don't mind Harpring. I think it is a plus that he just retired. The Jazz system was obviously fresh in his mind and he was able to tell the average fan what Jerry or even Ty was thinking. Will that change if Ty implements a new system? Sure. I still think Harpring will be fine.
