My parents recently bought a asleep Number mattress. I was impressed, they are very comfortable.

I'm in the market for a new mattress. What are your favorite mattresses and places to shop for them?
 
My wife sells them at the local Macy's. She's fond of Beautyrest, and bought us an air-cooled gel-filled something.

For me, if the mattress is softer than a wooden plank and harder than jello, I'm good.
 
Deseret industries sells really good new mattresses for a decent price. (About 1000 dollars for a king)

We had issues with a mattress we had bought from rc willey so we had a guy come to our house to check out the mattress to see if we could use the warranty.

That guy, who works with mattress quality issues everyday, told us that deseret industries has the best mattresses for the price.
So we went and bought a king size and its been really good.

You could probably get a better one if you want to pay like 5000 for a tempurpedic or something but if you are on more of a budget then i recommend the DI ones
 
I like RC Willey. They have reasonable prices during a sale, and if you don't like a bed you can do a one time swap (which I did). I have a serta and simmons from RC Willey and I like them both. They often have stupid promotions (I had a choice between a free BBQ grill or Xbox360 with my last bed---I'd prefer a cheaper bed but whatever).

Really though the D.I. sells actual new mattressess that are very high quality for a good price.
 
Isn't that one from their Crime Scene line? Premium mattresses, "gently used", for a great price!

This. Donated mattresses that couldn't move them, still in the plastic cover.

I'm considering the jump to the new mattress market myself.
 
We had great mattress from Brick and I was sleeping like a baby until my wife decided to buy some stupid memory foam cover and put on top of it. Now it is to soft and my back hurts during the night and I wake up with back pain. Problem is she likes that damn thing and does not want to get rid of it. I am seriously thinking about cutting it in half and removing it from my side:(

I think I bought a Sealy about 6 years ago or so. It was a firm. I cannot sleep on anything less than firm and I definitely don't do pillow top.
