Max Out Matthews?

I would say that atlanta is the exception not the rule...... also i think they have no chance at winning the title this year. (i know all about thier record and how well they have faired against the west, but i still think they have no chance)

San antonio is loaded with hall of famers.

Will be fascinating to watch Atlanta in the playoffs... i think people are sleeping on them. Memphis is built similarly... You don't need a super duper star to win anymore. Who is to say that Gobert isn't a super duper star on defense. I really like what we are building.

Ideally we'd keep one of those guys, but I think we go all in on Russell. We could add our 1st rounder next year as well... it would suck to give up 3 additional first rounders to move up 5 spots or so, but it is hard to move from the second tier players to the first tier players in the draft. My starting point would be Burke, Hood, and the GSW/OKC picks. A team like LA might consider it... they need everything. I could see Minny considering it as well, but it would have to be Burks probably. Anytime the coach is the GM they do stupid stuff.

I do not think you can go two years without a first. The jazz would have to stagger them out.

I'd really try to keep Burks or hood. But the GS 1st, Jazz 2015 1st, Burke, Burks/Hood and a 2nd rounder is s damn good haul. I really do see that as a very solid offer to a team like the Lakers and Sixers.

You are probably right

I agree 100%
I would hate to **** up what we are building by signing the 4th best player on our team to a max deal

The Sixers too I guess... those ******** love picks... give them all of our second rounders and I think they would corner the market. They could own every euro prospect... like all of them.

We could trade our pick this year and next to move up and still be cool with the CBA... We would be exercising a pick so it works. 2017 is supposed to be the good draft anyway.

Should we do it?

What else are we going to spend our money on?

Does it affect our ability to keep any of our core?

Max is a bit much for that guy. 8-10 tops.

I think the highest max is available to players who have been in the league 7 years, and Matthews is in his 6th year now. If I'm right on the 7 year thing that would be even more of an incentive for Matthews to sign a short contract this summer.

that sounds right.

Lol, he is worth wayyyy more than that. Have you watched basketball in the last 3 years? 3pt shooting is extremely important and so is defense, he is top 10 among perimeter players in both things. He is at least worth 13 million, I'd pay like 15.

If we cant get wes matthews or one of the other top free agents then at least we can get this:

LITTLE CAESARS INTRODUCES NEW BACON-WRAPPED PIZZA CRUST
You're bacon me crazy.
Little Caesars is working overtime to help sate the bacon cravings of America.

In a new creation called the Bacon Wrapped Crust Deep! Deep! Dish Pizza, the chain restaurant has wrapped 3 1/2 feet of bacon around the sides of a deep-dish pizza with pepperoni and bacon bits sprinkled on top. It costs $12 and is the replacement for the Soft Prezel Crust Pizza.

The Bacon Wrapped Crust Deep! Deep! Dish Pizza will be available starting February 23 through April.

Yep, that's right. 7-9 year veterans get 30% max, 1-6 year ones get 25%. But I don't agree that Matthews has an incentive to sign a short time contract. Only players that think they can get 30% max have to worry about that. I don't think Matthews is one of those players. I think if he gets anywhere near current 4year x 25% max, he'd take it and be ecstatic with it. The current 4 year max for him will be 70M. I don't think he's getting more than that when the cap space escalates.

I don't know if max is the best option. But 12-14 might be a good offer...

I like the idea of going after Mathews. He's a damn good player.

But I think we first have to swing for the fences with Butler, Draymond, or Leonard. I know people think it's impossible, but it's still worth a try.

If nothing else, then we force one of these teams to pay the max when they might not want to.

Then we target Mathews or Danny Green.
