.BTW, how does Presti make these moves? They gave up nothing of value and ended up with two superstars, arguably. Making the rest of the NBA look crappy. It's too bad for OKC that Clay Bennett is such a ****ing dumb sack of **** and pushed Harden out because he didn't want to amnesty Kendrick Perkins lol.
33 YO Melo is not a superstar. Please stop saying that.
Also, Melo had a no-trade clause and was trying to force his way to Houston. When it wasn't working out, he expanded his list of teams to include the Cavs and OKC. It's not like Presti was competing against the rest of the league in pulling this trade off. The Knicks were in a bad situation and ended up taking the lesser of evils just to get him out of NY.
Paul George is headed to the Lakers next year, and everyone knows it, so it crushed his trade value.
Let's revisit this OKC offseason next year and for the next decade following, as it may take them that long to rebuild after burning everything resembling an asset to go all in this year. It's a huge gamble that they may greatly regret.
