What's new

Members vs. Guests is BS

You're far too kind. I've been following this site for years, and have (usually) enjoyed the news, insights, banter, and stories from Best Buy.

I just don't have much to contribute... I don't have any inside info, I'm not qualified to coach a peewee basketball team, and I don't have the time to look up the advanced stats that you folks provide sometimes.

But, a Jazz fan for life...
Never stopped me.

I'm with pinhead. You guys usually have some great insight and I like checking in here to see your guys reactions to jazz player interest. I'm a life long jazz fan and just took the kids to our first jazz game this spring to watch them lose to the clippers. Great game and the atmosphere was awesome. But I also don't have time to follow the entire nba so I'm not familiar with some of the free agents and their strengths and weaknesses so I get tons of insight from you guys. I don't post as I don't feel like my opinion would add anything of value to most post.

Given I'm apparently going for my year's quota on posting tonight I'll ask a question...

With the rumor of the Jazz going after Deng in play I'd like to know if he is considered a good or even adequate shooter? Time and time again I hear (and see) the Jazz needing better shooting. But, doesn't Deng have like a 34% average from behind the arc? I get he may play a lot of 4 for us, but is that percentage good for a stretch big?

I truly and honestly don't know the answer to that. And yes, I know his defense is fantastic.

Dr. Jones Where you at? You started this thread and a new poster ask you a question and you leave him hanging. Maybe this answers your OP question for this thread...

Glad we didnt get Deng. He is too run down and didnt add what we needed. I would rather Lyles shoot open shots than Deng for our backup PF. Dengs days as a good defensive SF might be over.

No one here adds anything helpful to anyone. The people who claim they do are wrong. What helps is everyone posting useless opinions and as a whole they are kind of entertaining. Plus you can vent about the Jazz or show how much koolaide you have drank.

Way too high % of people peepin this site aren't members... much less posters.

I'm not an owner of the site or an admin, but I sincerely want to know why you don't join and post. I wish you would. A lot.

Please let me give a testimonial. I've been a member since 2003-04 (if I remember it correctly) and used to play the forecast game. But English is not my first language and I had a lot going on in my life. So, until recently, I very rarely posted anything. I think many of the peepers/voyeurs may be foreigners also - either from Russia, Turkey oir even Brazil, like me. Besides, people are part of so many social networks these days that is quite difficult - I think - to participate activelly in one which requires writing.

In terms of sociality the website is one gargantuan circle jerk of faux-personalities, but it's adequate in getting a pulse of general consensus of what the fanbase is about with the team.

Thats why when Gameface is invites people over for a great night you go. I assume anyone I have not met in person is probably TroutBum , some other duplicate or @vermin I mean whatever that fake Borat guy is.

I would encourage more foreign posters to participate even if English is not your first language. Don't sweat it if you misuse a word, misspell something or have trouble putting together a coherent sentence. Most of the English speaking posters on Jazzfanz have extreme difficulty with this as well. There's even this one weirdo that capitalizes the first letter of each word in his posts, and reading it is more painful than stabbing your eyes with an ice pick.
