Memo traded to NJ

Is it too soon to be sarcastic? Not by some posts I've read.

Memo was a second round pick, and the way the Jazz use second round picks, this could eventually be a great move.

I don't see that as sarcastic. I see it as a real possibility.

Just think, when Deron leaves and that franchise is left in total ruin for who knows how many years, maybe this will be a high 2nd rounder.

Most idiotic post in at least a week (which is saying something for Jazzfanz.) Take this opportunity to realize you lashed out. Memo was a great player. Not one of the all time greats, obviously, but one of the best shooting big men to ever play the game for sure. I have no problem with the inevitable onslaught of arguments that dealing him was the right move, but don't disrespect the guy. He's way too legit to pretend he was something less than he was.

Overrate him a little more...please.

Could the jazz possibly be setting up to re-sign Deron this summer? Maybe even CP3 or Dwight? They better be After all the salary dumps and letting Mathews go.

Kevin O'Connor: "The biggest reason (to trade Okur) is we were able to gain what we consider a valuable asset in the trade exception."

Locke said a 13 million total contract. IE 6.5 a year.
I heard differently, and in context it sounded like 13 per based on the other radio guys reactions to it. (they both disagreed) And since AK is asking for at least 8-9 per year, 6 doesn't really make sense. I may be wrong, Locke can be confusing. (don't get me wrong, I really enjoy listening to him)

With DW, D-Steve, AK, Hump, and Okur, you could easily have a lineup in New Jersey made up of former Jazzmen.
And if I were D-Will I would walk the moment my contract is up if this is all New Jersey can come up with.

+1 on Inn Dawn.

Okur was one of the best-shooting big men? Big deal. You can get a very good wing shooter who plays equally so-so defense for 1/2 or 2/3 the price.

I like Okur; he has a sweet trey, a cool Lotus, a hot wife, and the admiration of the Ottoman Empire. But he is a poor defender, and only an OK inside offensive player. Utah needs both; it's too damaging for a player to take minutes from players who can. Already happened with Fesenko, who--even though he had terrible offense--did a much better job enforcing order in the middle. And now, with 2 or 3 bigs with upside on both ends of the court, Okur merely takes away time from others.
