Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr will continue to have medical tests and procedures this week at Stanford. He remains out indefinitely.

Kerr has been sidelined by symptoms, including migraines and nausea, related to complications from the back surgery he had almost two years ago.

Assistant coach Mike Brown will continue to act as head coach of the Warriors for Game 1 against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.

That's unfortunate, but the Jazz clearly have an advantage with Quin over Brown in this scenario. The Warriors are an intelligent, well-coached team. They proved last year that they can live without Kerr - but in a series where moves and countermoves become important. . . I'd rather have the coach playing chess over checkers. I've never been a fan of Mike Brown. It'll be interesting to see how the Dubs respond if the Jazz can steal a game in Oakland.

Interesting. Remember in 2010 when George Karl was out and Dantley filled in? A lot of analysts had Denver winning.

I think Sloan destroyed any chance of Dantley getting an HC job after that series. It was like cat playing with a three legged mouse.

I detest that despicable human bobblehead and his idiotic smirk, but I wish him a speed recovery.

Hopefully it's an advantage to the Jazz. This is the true underdog series this season, I'm not counting the Jazz out at all even though most fans and media are. This team is capable of beating anyone in the league when they are dialed in.

All the best to Kerr. Hope he figures it out and gets better.

But this is an advantage to the Jazz. Snyder will run circles around Brown. How much will it matter though?

Brown is a horrible coach, but that still might be enough with a great bench, 4 allstars starting, two of the top four players in the league. I still think Utah has a chance, but I'm a homer. Homerism brings with it some idiocy. Utah in 6.

I don't see much impact. Brown is going to be on the phone with Kerr discussing any next game adjustments.

Synder can only have an impact on in-game adjustments.

I like your homerism.

A coworker greeted me yesterday morning with: "Hey the Jazz won game seven, you must be happy, but too bad the next series will be a sweep."

I replied, "I don't think it will be a sweep, it will go 5 games because the Jazz will let the Warriors win one."

In other news....I like the potential drama storylines of Mike Brown returning to Cleveland to face Lebron. The NBA has this burning need to find drama headlines where ever possible. But on second thought, wouldn't it be a better drama storyline to have Hayward adn Mack face off against their old college coach, while highlighting the two young coaches and the possible Boston FA signing of Hayward? Heck, they could even mention that Danny Ainge once played basketball in Provo. Someone call Stern & Company and make it happen.
