Maynor was so much better than Gaines it's disgusting.
Although I agree that the Jazz did what they had to do, it would have been nice to be able hold onto Maynor. No, he wasn't tearing the league up as a rookie, playing behind one of the league's best PGs, and scratching for PT with Price, but for the burn he got, he showed an awful lot of upside. I don't think we're going to see someone nearly as good in that spot for quite some time.
Oh, this is a Mike James thread... sorry.
About time. Hasn't it been a couple of months since he expressed his deepest heartfelt desire, sincere or not, to play on the Jazz? I still point to that one stat popping year he had. It doesn't matter that he is not that player anymore, he still has to have some of that putting the ball in the hoop in him. Just enough to provide of us with a spark for a handful of minutes at a time.
Whoever neg repped me for my posts in this thread, you obviously missed that I was and am a big Maynor fan, but many were complaining about him being a chucker, poor shooter, defensive liability, etc. until he was traded...and all of a sudden he is better than Derek Fisher. I also find it funny that I was one of the few that liked the Maynor pick from the beginning, and now I seem to be one of the few that remembers that he had significant flaws.
Edit: A couple more months of shooting 39% for the Jazz and he becomes the new Hart/Knight here on Jazzfanz.
pretty sure you've always needed bifocals.I recalled being just a bright eyed 25 year old damn damn. I’m pretty sure Best Buy dates back to prehistoric Jazzfanz stays lol
wow. Pre-dates me, then, too.Pretty sure Best Buy might pre-date when I started posting in ‘07 (what the ****?).
The irony of this is I’ve worn bifocals since I was two years old.pretty sure you've always needed bifocals.
