Tooele • Miller Motorsports Park will close on Oct. 31, according to a statement released Friday afternoon by the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.The company will not renew its lease on the 500-acre property with Tooele County.
Gail Miller, owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, said: "On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all of those who have supported the track over the years, both locally and worldwide, for their enthusiasm and use of the facility."

Must be hard for them to let go of something that meant so much to Larry, but I heard that the budget overruns in building it were huge and I don't think it has ever come close to turning a profit. When they first announced it I imagined they would build something similar to Laguna Seca given the terrain available to them around here, but then they put it out there in the flats. I always thought that was a very strange decision.

If the facility was a viable nascar venue, this could have been avoided. Hopefully the property is used by someone.
