Millsap for Bledsoe?

An inexperienced jazz fanz visitor would think the Bledsoe for Millsap deal is done when looking into topic page count.
 
I logged off last night to 6 pages and I wake up for 21 pages of this????? You guys are crazy, man. Not sure if it's good crazy or bad crazy though. Not even going to bother to read it all. 21 pages......and it's a rumor.....that states both teams should be interested in talking with each other. Fandom is great.
 
We will trade them Favors. All it takes to get the deal done is Blake Griffin. Anything else on their roster is of no interest to the Jazz if Favors is involved. We would be willing to give up any or all of Marvin, Al, Millsap, Watson, Carrolle, Tinsley, Mo, Evans, Bell and one of our 1st if they would like. :)
 
From everything I've read and heard, my opinion is that if Bledsoe is traded it will be to the jazz. KG was very adamant about finishing his career in Boston, so no way Bledsoe is going to the Celtics. I think the Clips are going to do what they can to give themselves a chance to contend for a tittle to make Paul happy.

Bottom line is if the jazz like Bledsoe this deal will get done, but not till the last minute, as the Clips will hold out for KG, but as I said before, not going to happen.

That's my take. KG us going to get a lot of pressure to waive his no trade clause. He has a chance to compete for a championship with the Clippers. Yes, I know he already has one, but Clippers would defintely move into the conversation with OKC, SA and Miami with KG aboard. Garnett is a much better option than Millsap. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers decide to stand pat if KG decides to remain in Boaton.

The deals being reported are not the same though. It is Millsap for Bledsoe, the deal for Garnett is both Bledsoe and Deandre Jordan. Garnett>Millsap I dont know that he is better than Millsap and Jordan though. If they trade for Garnett then they have a lack of depth at the big men spot and need Odom to actually step up and play well.
 
Clippers fan here. Don't throw stuff at me!

Just giving my perspective.

1) The Clippers worked extensively on Odom to get him in shape and believed in him after he was trash in Dallas. He's an emotional leader in the lockeroom (he leads pre-game rituals). He's also our finisher in the fourth quarter (DeAndre sits).

2) Our racist cheap owner has historically been incredibly frugal. Even if he wants to win a championship now, he's not going to go cap destructive.

3) For reasons #1 and #2, I'm 90% sure it wouldn't be Odom that would be traded to you guys. It would be either DeAndre Jordan or Butler. As a Clippers fan, I hope it's Butler. But it could be DeAndre. Now, you have Favors and Kanter who need minutes...so logistically I don't know how that will work. I'm just saying that it probably won't be Odom.

4) Dude it was just 1 fan who proposed Kanter. Stop bashing the whole fanbase based on one 13 year old boy. Jeez.

5) I think Utah's talks are a leverage ploy against Boston.

6) Millsap/Griffin front court has NO shotblocking whatsoever. The deal doesn't make much sense for us with Millsap at the 5. With Millsap at the 3...we have Barnes/Grant Hill/Butler already, and in teh fourth quarter we play Crawford at the 3 a lot with Billups/CP3 as the 1-2.

For all 6 reasons above, it's hard to see how this deal makes sense for the Clippers. Yes, Millsap has historically been beastly vs. the Heat. But IDK...
 
Bledsoe and odom for Paul, watson and a the GS pick and a lottery protected 2014 pick plus some of those 2nd round picks from New Jersey.

If clipps want to open up some cap room..

Trade Paul, watson, some 2nd round picks for Bledsoe and butler!!

Either way we need to get Bledsoe, I remember how I wasn't sold on Russell Westbrook for the same reasons most of the Bledsoe haters are saying... Not saying Bledsoe is Westbrook but its a great comparison!!!

Great first post and thank you for your contribution to our forum.

Nothing much to add to this. Just wanted to say though that the window of opportunity for trading Bledsoe is not going to be open forever. Running my eyes down all the NBA teams - only a handful of teams don't currently have a PG for the future, namely:

- Orlando
- Utah
- Lakers
- Dallas
- New Orleans

Orlando, Utah, Dallas and New Orleans will likely grab x4 of the projected PGs in this year's draft. So that list will shrink once again after the draft.

Another factor to consider is the fact that once Chris Paul re-signs with LA, Bledsoe will likely be playing behind CP3 and Billups again for the rest of next season. Meaning his value won't to go much higher than what it is now (no opportunity to prove himself as a starter). LA would have also learnt the lesson of OKC that had to quickly let go of Harden for not much in return before the RFA rolls around.

In conclusion I think Millsap + Jazz '13 pick + Tinsley/Watson is a pretty good return considering all of the above consideration. Bledsoe's value can only decline going forward as teams grap PGs in the draft and as Bledsoe will be forever playing behind CP3 & Billups.

this doesnt make sense as it doesn't seem to be The Celtics that need convincing, but Garnett, who has said he will under no circumstances wave his no trade clause, so it makes no sense to use the the jazz for leverage against the Celtics.

Also if you guys use Odom as a closer in the 4th quarter, there's no reason Millsap can't take that role, and Millsap>>>>>>Odom.
