Millsap for Bledsoe?

I'm sure most of you know by now but if Bledsoe + Butler for Millsap (or something like that) goes down then this is our cap situation:
About $34 million coming off the books this Summer with only Marvin Williams, Caron Butler, Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter, Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, and Jeremy Evans (and Kevin Murphy if we choose) on the roster.

That means next summer, we would currently have $16.5 million coming off with Marvin Williams and Caron Butler. Bledsoe, Hayward, AND Favors all are restricted free agents then. We definitely should have enough money to sign all of them which is why it is very important to not take back any big contracts past the 2013-2014 season.

If the Jazz were to offer Jefferson a contract that he would require this Summer, it would seriously hurt our chances of signing all of the Core Five (with Bledsoe). I know it is a long way in the future but I know some people were concerned that Jefferson gets resigned if we make this deal. I'm not so sure.

Jefferson could do a front-loaded deal. I may get flamed for saying this, but Al + Favs + Kanter each playing 36 minutes at PF/C isn't the worst idea. Notice how Al draws a double team and sets up our shooters? He can coexist.

Ahh.. you've finally showed up!!

Quick question: Bledsoe VS Burke.

If you were KOC who would you pick?

Why do I have to choose? Get both!

If i had to, I would pick Bledsoe because he has proven himself on a NBA level. Less risk. I also really like his defense and motor which would mesh perfectly with the youngsters on the team.....but yeah....get both and sub in Burke, Bledsoe, Foye, Burks any way you please.

Do your math again. Also remember (and I promise you this) one of Favors or Kanter will not ever start while Al is here. He will also close games. That's not 32 minutes for everyone. And hitting open shooters (occasionally) helps Al coexist with other bigs how?

Jefferson also cannot do any appreciable front loaded deal. Jefferson will continue to be everything everyone's been amply dissatisfied with (loser mentality, paired with loser focus and effort level, no presence in transition, largely terrible team D, soft as they come) except he can occasionally impact the game by passing now.

No thanks. I believe one of Kanter or Favors will be a star or both and that won't happen with Al in Utah another 3-4 years. Just as much as they need to learn to be the man, the jazz need to learn to lean on these two, and that's not happening with Al.

After all of this speculation, really hoping this gets done. Bledsoe is such an electric player and so fun to watch.

I think their ceiling are about the same... but with Bledsoe we can get the show on the road straight away. Burke would probably need 1-2 years to get accustomed to the NBA's pace, physicality, plays, etc.

Bledsoe is also light years ahead of Burke at the moment.

I want Bledsoe over any PG in this upcoming draft mainly because it gives us a core at similar ages and stages. Drafting a guy like Burke is fine, but knowing us he'll rot on the bench for at least two years before doing ANYTHING. Bledsoe is already a solid contributor and will get at least 20 minutes (and probably more) right off the bat.

That's why we should let Mo walks. Sign Tinsley & Earl again for short contracts. They're so old they're bound to get injured again and Ty would have no choice but to start Burke 1/2 way through the season (ala Burks at PG this year).

I highly doubt Mo isn't brought back. Despite the fact that he's terrible, KOC loves him.

I know KOC loves him. But KOC also doesn't like giving out long term contracts (Tinsley, Earl, DeMare), which Mo will be asking for, now that he's 30.

I don't think he's terrible. I think he's a Jason Terry-type player. He's a bit redundant with Foye in that respect. I also barely remember what he looks like.
