Millsap ready to play either PF or SF

So long as we don't bring in a vet FA at SF, I think we'll see Millsap start at either SF or PF depending on matchups. Bigger lineup, no problem; Favors is my PF, Millsap can either come off the bench or start at SF. Coach Ty seems very cognizant of the all-important matchup situation, and Millsap could become our "X"-factor in games, forcing matchups favorable to us. Something Jerry Sloan did not do with any consistancy, I might add...
 
I just want to see his "new found quickness" before I jump to any conclusion if he can really play the SF position.
 
He's been working out with Flash Gordon, and that white kid that has a 50 inch vert.
Not only will he be fast as lightning, he will jump like he's got flubber on his shoes.

Anyway, I don't think it's crazy to think that Millsap could be like Harpring when he was healthy (but passes). I look forward to seeing the drama unfold this season.

So who punched Millsap in the eye?
 
After seeing Sap at the charity game, I really think he's going to be capable of playing the 3. Granted I'm going off of a few plays that had zero defense and the fact that he looks smaller, but more cut than I've ever seen him.

He's put in the time to make the switch, I just hope it's not going against what his body was meant for.....not to mention the amount of work he'll have to do just to maintain what he's worked so hard to achieve.

We also have the issue of a mental change, especially considering the speed he'll have to defend at the 3.

If Sap can pull it off at the 3, it would open all sorts of options for the rotation possibilities. Talk about mismatches.

Well its the old square peg in a round hole argument. For instance Millsap is an above average NBA PF, but if moving him to SF only makes him average at the position, you would be better off to make a trade. My biggest concern is he will just be too slow on closeouts against perimeter three point shooters. AK was a little faster and longer and could do a better job at that.
 
I don't think we should be in a rush to trade mansap. We're not going anywhere this season and I would like to see if we can make it work, he really is a player you want on your roster--especially for the price.
