Excerpts:

It "was great because we wanted to see him go against guards and see his foot speed, see how he can guard," Ronzone said. "Derrick showed us a lot of that. He was able to go out on the wing and play. That was important. With his team in Arizona, he didn't do that. He sat at the four."

Ronzone said Williams can "solidify himself as a true three" and play against smaller NBA power forwards, noting how impressive Williams' handle was.

"We did a lot of live, halfcourt, one-on-one stuff and whoo -- he's got a big time handle," Ronzone said. "He shakes guys off him, he goes left-to-right really well. He really operates on the left side of the floor better than the right right now."

Doubt he's there when Utah picks, but if he is then I can't imagine the Jazz pass.

They could really like him. Or this is a smoke screen to create more value for the 2nd pick so they get more in a trade. So they tell people we will just draft Derrick Williams if the trade is not good enough.

If I was the Wolves I would draft Derrick Williams still but I would trade Beasley or Randolph for a late lottery pick. Like 7-11.

Beasley could play the Lamar Odom type role pretty well scoring off the bench. Probably the best role for him is to be a 6th man.

I wish Williams would fall to 3. But I dont' see it happening.

I don't get why everybody thinks other tramps want Beasley. He was so sought after Minnesota traded him for a second round pick. Why does everyone think he is suddenly worth a lottery pick? Beasley is going nowhere because nobody wants him.

Beasley had a respectable year didn't he?
Would you trade #12 pick for him?

19 ppg 5.6rpg 22 years old. I would do that deal in a second. Concerns would be that he is a free agent after one more season and he is a bit of a nut job.

I can't even see the palm of my hand in front of my eyes the smoke is so thick here!

Is this a smokescreen?

Absolutely it is!

Again you would trade an unproven Derrick Williams for a proven young 19 ppg player in Beastley. He isn't even a head case anymore and I think he is a much better player than Derrick Williams

He has also proven he probably will never be an all star in this league though. In college he shot 53% from the field and was at 45% his last year with Minny. Pretty huge drop off, and mostly because he can't score inside in the NBA.

I wouldnt draft derrick while there is beasley.
but i hope they do.

1. How do we know he isn't a headcase? Maybe he's not a "headcase" but that doesn't automatically mean he "gets it."
2. Never overestimate a player whose only good season is when he puts up big numbers on an awful team.
