Minny & Cavs 2025 picks watch thread

Based on last night's game Anthony Edwards' finger injury could be worse than thought. We'll see what happens tonight when OKC plays them. Wolves are sitting at the 7 seed but are a mere 3.5 games out of 11th and 2.5 out of 10th.
Wait... he hurt his finger?

They have a brutal schedule until they play us next. They will get the ASB to maybe get some of their guys healthy. I think Donte will be back after ASB. Randle is probably out for at least another week or two after the break.
If they navigate the next 5 games tho I think we can kiss the thought of having two lotto picks goodbye. Hope OKC is locked in. Lakers are still figuring things out a bit and Houston has struggled lately. If Ant is healthy I think they are fine.

I think we're looking at 13-16. I wouldn't mind Flagg or Bailey and then Demin with the Wolves pick.

TWolves lost but at this point it's unlikely it becomes a loto pick. GSW is about to embark on a east coast road trip, so maybe they can get on a little streak

Both Dallas and Golden State are trending in the right direction.
Yeah, Dallas is playing well. I'm more looking at the teams outside the lotto who might jump both Dallas and Wolves, and GSW might be the only one with a small chance. Hopefully they get a nice streak in their road trip.

Probably still gonna need an ant injury to get a lottery pick

The chances of Wolves having to go through playin to get to the playoffs are pretty good. In that case all we need is a loss or two to send them to the lottery. It's not likely to be a very high lottery pick, of course, but a) some pingpong balls and b) at lowest the 14th pick.

Minnesota is currently tied for 7th/8th place with Dallas. They are a game back of LAC, a half game up on Golden State, 2 games up on Sacramento, and 3.5 games up on Phoenix.

Phoenix is 2-8 in their last 10 games. I don't see them catching Minnesota.
I have a hard time seeing Sacramento passing Minnesota, unfortunately.
Golden State has been pretty good since the Butler trade, I could definitely see them passing Minnesota.
AD is out for at least another 2 weeks, which makes me think DAL won't overtake Minnesota, unfortunately.

Unless Ant gets injured, I think the best case scenario for Minnesota is 8th, realistically. For that to happen we need to be hoping for LAC and GS wins.
