I don't think the issue is as much a misinterpretation on the part of the officials, but rather often simply not being willing to call it.

If a ref had a clear view and would have seen that, he would have called it. More likely a foul first, though.

I figure you are right, but go look at the 0:04 mark and the 0:13-0:15 second mark. The ref is right on his elbow and seems to be watching him pretty intently. Not sure how he missed that. I don't believe in the conspiracy crap about refs, but I do believe they knowingly let some things like this slide.

...EXACTLY! These refs see the same traveling, palming, etc. that we do! They just don't call it! Why? They've been told by the league NOT to call the violations as the rules read....just let them play street ball so they can supposedly "entertain" the fans and increase the scoring. Hasn't worked in my opinion.
 
You all have to understand there is a hierarchy to the rules.
Rule number one is to make what Stern wants happens, and they go down from there.
No other rule can "Trump" a rule above it, so none of the rules can violate what Stern wants.

This is why the winner of the Memphis/OKC series will lose in the next series.
Mark it down.

I think this is where much of the confusion, and misunderstanding comes from... not knowing the true hierarchy.
 
Lebron pulled off the pass to himself loophole in the 4th qtr of game 3.
He was about to be blocked, so he let the ball slip out of his hands, went and got it, and scored a basket.

Both announcers thought he should have been called for a travel.

....over all, I think this series is being called fair and square. Nothing outstanding blatantly bad that would be construed as favoring one team over the other. What say you?
 
I disagree.
Wade alone gets his team an extra 10 points a game on his flops, and Lebron gets more calls in his favor than anybody else on the floor besides Wade.
