You can say it's a dumb comment all you want, but I thought it was pretty much common knowledge.
So I didn't think I had the need to site a link showing black voting statistics when voting for a black versus white candidate.

It wasn't meant to be a racist statement, it's just how things are for whatever reason.

Just like the fact that I support neither Obama nor Romney.
It's not about race, it's about the issues.

A stunning 6% more of the Blacks voted for Obama, compared with Al Gore. Clearly blacks only vote based on race, it has nothing at all to do with policy or party affiliation.

1984 Walter Mondale 90% Ronald Reagan 9%
1988 Michael Dukakis 90% George H.W. Bush 10%
1992 Bill Clinton 83% George H.W. Bush 10%
1996 Bill Clinton 84% Bob Dole 12%
2000 Al Gore 90% George W. Bush 9%

2008 Obama 96% McCain 4%

If you truly believe that blacks vote only on race, then you would believe that Herbert Cain would trounce Hillary Clinton. Do you?
 
The race/religion topic is kind of dumb.

If blacks only voted for blacks, then when two whites ran against each other, they should have a more even split among blacks. The problem with the blacks are racist, is that most blacks voted democrat before Obama and will vote democrat after Obama. So, it isn't that blacks only vote for blacks. The truth is most blacks are democrats.

Same for Mormons and Republican. Most Mormons are republican. They voted republican before Mitt and will do so after.

That is why this argument is stupid. Blacks do not equal racists when they vote. They equal democrat. Mormons do not equal racist when they vote for a Mormon. They equal Republicans.
 
So, your numbers say that McCain received less than half the support from the black population than any previous republican presidential candidate, and you're saying it's not a factor? I think it's pretty tough to suggest that "most black men only look at the race card" as the numbers don't support that argument, but to imply that race is an insignificant factor in the vote is incorrect. The same could be said for Mormons/Romney. There are varying degrees of "most".
 
But then again why shouldn't a black man vote for another black man, or a mormon vote for a mormon? Most minority groups rarely have someone in office that looks like them, or that shares their same belief.

I just don't like how the majority of Mormons are duped into thinking Republicans are "more christian" than Democrats. but that is another argument altogether.

If you are a Mormon why not vote for someone that represents your beliefs just on that level? That seems reasonable to me.

Seriously? There have been no major candidates for president except for Barrack Obama ever.

What does a stunning 6% more blacks voting for Obama have to do with a stunning 6% less blacks voting for Al Gore?
In the Gore election, there was no black man to vote for.
As well as all the other elections you mentioned had no black man to vote for.

Oh, and his name is "Herman Cain", and why would blacks vote for another black man when another black man is already president?

So you're telling me that you surmise that if the current president today was white, and Mitt Romney went up against Herman Cain, that the majority of black voters would not be voting for Herman Cain?

If someone votes for someone because they think that candidate will do something for their demographic because they share the same skin color or they are members of the same religion, they're stupid. However, if they vote for him because they believe they share the same values, then that makes sense.
