What's new

Monday Spurs VS Jazz 7 PM ET ---- Front row seat!

I agree that Hayward is getting calls he hasn't gotten before, but I don't think he's anywhere near the number of BS calls Kobe used to get and that Harden gets now.
Hell he's not even getting the Calls Manu, Parker and Duncan still get. How Duncan did not have 6 fouls at the half is beyond me. Just out and out no calls on obvious hack jobs 3 different times in the 1st half. Including pushing Gordon in the back to end the half.

I'm so excite that hotttnickkk's new persona is based in Utah. It was too constricting for him to be based in New Zealand or Vietnam, wrapped in double condoms, etc. Now he can get front row seats and live blog about it! What were your overall impressions, nickkk? Did we create matchup problems all over teh floor?

People make too much about Burke not passing. He's clearly been told to be aggressive and if you look at the make up of this team and Snyder's system one guy isn't going to have a ton of assist. As many mins as Exum is now getting and the few amount of shots he takes, despite everybody thinking he's a great passer and with top notch vision he's not getting many assist.

My laptop is having issues, but I was going to make a detailed thread about Burke passing and the idea that he's naturally a "chucker".

haha I am a Jazz fan that's why I don't believe in Burke at all. A pg that refuses to pass and shoots a bad % from the field? Yeah I want my team to win, weird concept.

It's only on the break where he has tunnel vision. He's made some great passes in the set offense.

Burke has actually played much better on both ends of the floor since moving to the bench. Also Exum's defense has been fantastic lately. He really fits with the starting lineup because he plays defense and he does not need the ball.

You do realize that I've met him in real life, right?

Wow, although last night I did think that "Hey, Gordon is finally getting some respect and some fouls."

Ask that guy about Manu. And a couple of calls against the jazz where the spur ran into his own guy, Bellineli, or just fell down, Parker.

The push on Hayward at the end of the first half, the clear offensive goaltending on Duncan's shot by Baynes, And several times Duncan pushed Gobert in the back for rebounds. I was actually incensed at how many calls SA was getting. Utah got their fouls because Gordon was driving. SA resorted to being a perimeter team once Rudy (and Derrick) shut them down.

I loved the one where Parker dropped the ball, went down for it, While pushing Exum 6 feet along the floor trying to get to it then a foul gets called on Exum who did absolutely nothing.
How about when Gobert clearly had position for the loose ball, dove for it and then Duncan? lands on him. Foul on Gobert.

Burke is quietly improving, and showing himself to be a valuable piece to this team. Where are the haters now?

I'm starting to prepare to eat some crow. Not quite time to eat yet, but in starting to look at recipes. Want to see that fg percentage rise and a few more assists per game. You gotta admit he was pretty terrible until now.

You've met Jamezz, but not hotnickkk. They could still be the same person, right? Though if that is the case then you DID meet hotnickkk. I have officially confused myself.

It does bug me that he cannot facilitate more for our best scorer. Seems like he just ignores Hayward when they are both on the court. And can you learn to read a shot clock Trey? How hard is that? Can't you wait another 5-10 seconds to get a shot off?

Yep. That's what irritated me the most. And Snyder exploded at him when he shot early and SA got a bucket at the end of the quarter to cut our lead. I think moving Trey to backup had more to do with getting Hayward involved than anything else. Gordon was often going for long stretches without even touching the ball. And he does now whenever he and Trey are in the game together. I don't think Trey is the optimal backup going forward, especially as we bring in or develop more subs who can shoot the ball.

But I AM willing to admit Trey has improved, even on the defensive end.
