He's an unrestricted free agent this summer. Just based off system and fit, how would he do with us?

I'm not talking about Crowder (a SF/PF) or Favors, I'm asking about the fit of Harrell. Does he or doesn't he?

Nope. Harrell is a glorified version of Ed Davis. More of a 4, not much of a 5. His lack of size'd be disastrous on defense/rebounding if he is to serve as Rudy’a backup. But to play as a 4 he also lacks the necessary shooting. Crowder/Favors are both better fit than him. But the best fit would have been Jerami grant, who is now basically ungettable because of the trade for you-know-who

I agree about Jerami Grant. He would have been perfect. I would be shocked if Denver let him go. He'll decline his player option and extend with Denver to something more than MLE.

As for Harrell, he doesn't compare to Ed Davis at all. Ed Davis has never averaged more than 9.7ppg. Harrell averaged 18.6ppg this year off the bench. Ed Davis is a rebounder and hustle guy. Harrell is better at both. Harrell can't spread the floor, but he can guard SF, PF and C. I don't think Harrell fits great next to Rudy, but the guy can play.

Thats why I said he's more of a “glorified” version. He hustles a bit sure. But he is a career sub who can't operate as an anchor down the paint like Rudy. He can operate as a 5 only if your forwards feature elite rebounders like Gallo, Jamychal Green, Kawhi or George who could share the load. If you put him in Ed’s place, he'd have collapsed in the same way.

If we solve our forward issue, our backup 5 problem would have been solved on its own. We are basically playing guys who can't even outrebound the guards at our forward spot right now.

Why would Grant want to leave a team that is going to be competing for Chips for the next ten years? Harrell is a racist. I doubt his Shitkk would fly in Utah where most the population is white. He should of been suspended from playoffs anyways. Also everytime the man makes a shot he celebrates like he hit a game winner. Man even the nuggets, who have built their team the right way, through the draft makes the proper trades. Grant was a trade. A trade utah could of done but they didn't. His defense on Leonard was beautiful last series. Now how well he defends lebron next series will tell us how much money he going get

Exactly. Grant isn't going anywhere which is what I said. He'd have to get an extreme overpay but not many teams actually have money. Denver sheds Millsap's money which means they have some flexibility to pay Grant well above MLE to keep him.

As for Harrell, I think we would be incredibly fortunate to replace Davis/Bradley with him. It's highly unlikely for a number of reasons. As for him being a racist, I think that's harsh. His comment was terrible.

Royce, Bradley,Niang, Morgan,Tucker
These guys should be back of bench guys. Instead they start and are rotation pieces for Jazz. Look superstars cancel each other out in today's game and it's all about the other guys. Jazz never winning when these are there other guys. Favors was perfect here, in perfect situation for the team and for himself. He can play 5 when Rudy is on the bench and can play the 4 next to him but many jazz fans didn't appreciate the man enough when he was here. It's true when they say you never miss something great until it's gone. B

There would have been about 100 ways to solve this issue if the FO didn't mess it up by making the trade for Conley

We had to dump Favors in order to sign Bojan after we made the stupid Conley trade. In hindsight, we should have kept Crowder and Favors while just signing Bojan outright.

Oh well, maybe we can convince Favors to return, but it can't be most or all of the MLE.

If you look at the roster alone, we are much behind in terms of players talent/team building compared to even the Suns/Twolves. With the splash brother returning for the Warriors, and Joe/Conley/bojan regressing next season as expected for players of their age, we'd be fighting for a playoff spot next season and it won't be easy

He would be un upgrade over Bradley or Davis, that's not hard to accomplish. He would profit from Joe in PnR. But for that I would prefer Favors who gives more on defense and rebounding. I would also prefer to get some stretch 5 instead.

Thank you for the input.

You think Favors is a better defender than Harrell?

I'd rather have a stretch as well.

He'd fit well but he's not what we need to allocate our resources to. On a MLE type of deal he'd be awesome. He's hit some hard times and will likely take a contract hit because of it... but he's still a very good player.
