More Chad Ford Speculation: #5 and Favors for #2 and Sanders

I like Favors, but Gobert and Sanders are both better pure rim protectors. Tomic, while not a rim defender, is another quality center that could be on our team soon. You have to take emotion out of the equation. Everyone likes Favors quiet and humble demeanor, but you do this deal.

To me the Sanders part is not very consequential. This deal is made if you believe Wiggins or Parker are star quality players, and Favors is at best a fringe all star.

I get objecting to this based on basketball reasons, but if Sanders is a headcase you can Roger Braille his ***. If he actually matures a bit hey, there's a bonus.

True, it isn't about Favors and Sanders. But, you still will have Sanders contract, unless something crazy happens.

Still working through how I feel about this current deal. On a basketball front, I think it makes a lot of sense, but he might be too poisonous an influence for our very young team. Roger Bell'ing him is a lot harder to do when he's on the front end of a $48MM contract.

I'm probably the least knowledgable poster on this thread, but Thee Jazz Tard is making me feel pretty damn good about myself.

Alright. I've decided. You do this trade. Even if Sanders is a POS who abuses animals, and you have to banish him to Antelope Island, his contract is off the books by the time you extend Wiggins.

I would do it. If Sanders can get clean he could be a great complement to Kanter.

Hang on, folks. He's not representing this as an actual rumour, he was asked, "What would it take?" He answered.

In today's (6-18) Chad Ford chat...

Derek (Salt Lake)
How much do you think the Jazz would be willing to give up for the 2nd spot to likely land Parker?

Chad Ford (1:18 PM)
I think it would cost them, at a minimum, Derrick Favors and the No. 5 pick. And they'd have to take back Larry Sanders. The Sanders contract isn't a bad one if you think this year's issues off the court have been resolved. He's a great shot blocker and rebounder. But that's a pretty high cost to move up.

Ryan (Utah)
Any truth to the rumor that the Jazz have zeroed in on Jabari?

Chad Ford (1:19 PM)
I know what Jazz fans want. They want Jabari. But I actually think Embiid and Wiggins may be higher on their boards. If they move up, don't assume it's for Parker. And please Jazz fans, don't burn down Dennis Lindsay's home if he passed on him. You'll love Wiggins too.
