More Mitchell Love

Love what Mitchell has done for my favorite team but Simmons has played better and put up better numbers and deserves ROY .

The difference in the answers of Simmons and Donovan are about as far apart as you can get. Nothing makes me want Donovan to be ROY more than to snub an arrogant attitude. “People who know the game know”.......mmmmm they know you disappear in 4th quarters to bud?

I think this is a little harsh. He seems to avoid the ball late in games due to his poor ft shooting. Being intentionally fouled makes him shift his role. He needs to sought that out no doubt. But being a poor ft shooter doesn't reduce his overall impact much. He could go ahead and get to the line a million times in the 4th. Probably should at times. He is definitely an Alpha - just a different type imo.

What I think will be interesting though is the FACT that teams will intentionally foul him in the playoffs. If he can't come through that it will be a bad look.

It isn’t harsh. I’ve tried to watch as many games of his as possible, I have league pass, and even the game against the Cavs he was far less impactful the second half and 4th quarter than he was the first half. Harsh? Or a major flaw in his game that teams will exploit when it really comes down to it? He’s extremly talented and an amazing player with amazing vision, but if we are going to look at his stats and numbers to justify how great he is, we can also look at his stats and numbers in 4th quarters to show us he disappears a lot in those times.

Someone (who has the ability to get it right) should put together a comprehensive highlight tape for Donovan Mitchell from this year’s regular season. Bet that would be one helluva mixtape.

I go back and watch old ones of Rudy and Favors. I’d love to have one transcendent highlight tape from this year for Spida.

For reference -

The Cavs game analysis isn't quite right. He scored more in the 2nd half and his assists dried up (mainly from the shooters cooling down). He had a beastly game. Only thing I think he may have shied away from was switching off Bron in the 4th quarter. They needed him to have a go. Belli and others were getting murdered.

Don't disagree with much of the rest of it.

He will get the ROTY (something I didn't think would happen a few months back).

Countdown on Most 3 point makes by a Rookie: Post Lakers - 1/8/18

1.) Damian Lillard, Portland (12/13) - 185
2.) Donovan Mitchell, Utah (17/18) - 182
3.) Steph Curry, GSW (09/10) - 166

Donovan Mitchell (17/18) - with three more 3 pointer tonight brings his total to 182.

Needs 3 more to tie Lillard, 4 more to take over sole possession of 1st.

2 games left to go. He needs to average 2 per game to do that. He’s averaging 2.4 on 8.0 attempts over the last 20 games.

There’s a decent chance that he breaks the record in the last game against Portland. For the #3 seed in the West. Unreal.

This is the perfect year for Co-Rookie MVP. They have done it before and they should do it again. There is no statistical measure that says one of these guys is better than the other. Let them share it. Nobody should be upset by that.
