Wasn't Collier near 40% for the months of Feb and March? Or was that Cody Williams?

My vote is actually for Cody because he cant get much worse. Having said that, I think the more impactful improvement will be Collier because he grew so much month to month.

His FG% was around 45% from the start of February to the end of the season.

His 3P% didnt even break 30 in any month.

It would be amazing if Collier could fix his jump shot, I just don't know how likely that is. He was 88/303 (29%) on all jump shots last year. I'm guessing that is close to last in the league for a guard.

I think it's more likely that if his shot is fixable it will take a couple of years.
Well, we can look at the past drafts to see how often the guards with Collier's stats (25% 3PT, 68% FT%) improved over time. By improved I mean at least reaching the 32% 3-pointers and 75% FT% level.
I looked at all guards (drafted in the 10 drafts staring in 2011/12) who got enough play in their rookie year.

Never improved:
- Elfrid Payton
- Jarret Culver
- Michael Carter-Williams
- Phil Pressey

Improved FT%, but not 3PT%:
- Ron Baker
- Josh Jackson

Improved 3PT%:
- None

As you can see, none of the guards who shot as poorly as Collier meaningfully improved their jump shot and almost all of them washed out of the league very quickly. The best case scenario for Collier would probably be Jalen Suggs who started at 21% and 77% and by now developed them both although he is still very far from being a good shooter. But Suggs was much, much better at his free throws right away.

Again, we all hope that Collier will become a reliable shooter, but the that would be pretty unprecedented.
