Move to Consider if Hayward Leaves

Assuming George Hill also leaves once Hayward is out, I think the Jazz should look at trading with the Phoenix Suns with Brandon Knight.

He has around 45 million left over the next 3 years and is dead weight for Phoenix. He could be a reclamation project for the Jazz as he does have some talent.

The Suns don't have a ton of future assets, but they do have Miami's 2018 pick top 7 protected (which moves to unprotected in 2019 if not conveyed) and Miami's 2021 unprotected first round pick along with all their draft picks.

What draft picks would they have to give up to the Jazz to take on Knight's contract? Remember, this is only under the assumption Hayward and Hill are both gone.

That's a blow it up scenario for me, unfortunately. But Gobert might be too good to land us in the top 5 of the draft.

? Please stick to the topic. The Jazz wouldn't be blowing it up, but using cap-space to take a bad contract so they can still get a decent late lottery, or early non-lottery pick.

Oh lmao. I thought this was the thread where we talk about what would happen if Hayward and Hill left, not one single move. My bad.

Knight does nothing for me. But picks are nice I guess.

So..... What would it take for you?

I've been proposing a better deal with the Suns.
They hate Knights contract. And as you said.. he has some upside/skill.

So take Brandon, give them Favors, and swap picks.
(They don't love anyone in the draft.. as rumor goes).

Wow, I doubt they would do that, but that would be amazing.

Quick question - if Hayward does leave, would this be the first time in the NBA that a FA walks without the home team getting anything in return?!?!?!

I just couldn't think of another time this has happened.

You literally dont remember last year?

Or The Decision?

Or any huge number of UFA decisions that happen every year.

They won't pay that much... I brought up knight a while back and I believe certain jazzfanz were not thrilled... I believe Cy may have lold me but whatevs.

I could see them giving the Miami pick or 31 this year for a Favs for knight swap.

I wonder if we could do a Burks for knight deal.

No to Knight. There are much better salary dumps to look at than Knight.

We have a number of ideas we can try.

I would take Clarkson from LA, Anderson from Houston if they threw us crazy picks, Noah from NY if there was some crazy trade package they could get us, and of course my Ingram and Deng idea.

Are you off your medication? This seems very odd for someone who has spent so much time on this board. Perhaps you killed OL and are actually an imposter?

As for taking on Knight, it depends on what other move we're able to make, but if that's the only move, I'd blow it up and tank.

Yes. It would be the first time a free agent signed with another team. Truly historic.

I think Millsap and big al both left and the jazz got nothing.
In fact I think this happens every year probably

2018 top 3 protected. I don't like Knight and those 3 years will seem like an eternity to be rid of it.

So far you are the only ****ing person smart enough to read the thread and actually respond to the question.

Thank you.
