What's new

My last hopes for Favors died tonight ....

Any ,any contribution from Derrick Favors and the Jazz win. He played 38 minutes for 2 pts and I thought he was going to miss those free throws before he shot them.I've watched him play soooo good in the past but he has lost his legs and you have to wonder if their shot.
His play is saying the Jazz need to think about who can play next to Gobert next year .Favors has alot of people to convince now that he can still play and be a factor. This was his game to show he still has game.

He needs an off season to recover from injuries and get back into shape. He also needs to not play out of position at a position he has never been good at even when healthy and in game shape. He also needs to not match up with one of the top Centers in the league and the most athletic player at that position. He played poorly and needed to make 1 FT but not sure what everyone expected when he hardly touched the ball all night and was clearly hobbled and exhausted by the end. He put in a good effort and slowed Jordan down more than the previous game.

I've always loved Favors, wanted him to succeed and believed he would turn into a top PF.
Those days are gone. I know he is hurt and has been all year....but ****...you gotta show up in the biggest home game the team has been in since 2010!
Its bad to trade a player when his value is at an all time low, but really I don't think the Jazz can move forward with him. We NEED a PF in the worst way

Favors is the only jersey I own. I loved the guy, I thought he would be a really good player. But i am in the same boat. The guy is done, the guy should retire he is so bad. And I get that his legs are weak but even with that he could be decent if he wanted. He just really doesn't give a **** about being good. He is soft

I am not sure if Favs make sense in our long term plan but what he did tonight and this whole year is not Favs. He is playing on one leg. Favs will be back and will be a very solid big in this league.

Favors was bad last year. He was supposed to come back healed and ended up missing all of preseason. Then all season he was hurt.
My problem with him is his heart. He doesn't seem to give max effort. He doesn't have the instinct to get it done.

His missed 3 ft easy layup after faking out Jordan lost us the game imo. He hits that were up 7 with less than 4(I think) to go. They come back and cut it to 3.

You can say that about every player tonight.

Hayward missed an easy layup

Ingles missed wide open 3's

Johnson missed wide open 3's

I still think we need to run a play here or there early in the game for Favors to give him some confidence. Get him in the game on the offensive end.

You're right but I even told my buddy after that, "that could be game". Maybe it was the indicative play where I realized we weren't playing to win. So yeah, it was definitely a team effort.

It's not just his body. He isn't a smart player... several mistakes tonight were mental. I have no clue what he is thinking out there.

Favors literately gets 0 weakside help on any actions which is super weird when only one guy is beating us.

We have Favors for 1 more year on a pretty decent contract. Let him get healthy and see what he can do. He has been playing injured, and isn't himself. He probably won't ever get back to where he was athletically, but let him get healthy and in shape before writing him off. He is a PF, and is trying to play C right now injured.

16.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.2 steals, 70% FT, and 52% FG is bad? Really? Okay.

LOL, that's always the answer. Exum would be good if only he had an off-season. Burks too. Now Favors needs an offseason. These three COMBINED to play about 3,000 minutes, same as several individual players did.

He needs to get healthy. Did he look healthy to you? Exum should be playing imo this series. He can guard CP3 better than anyone else on our roster right now.

Players need to be healthy. Favors isn't. Exum is raw, and hasn't played enough basketball yet. Totally different situations. Hood is inconsistent. That may or may not be related to injuries, or it may just be who he is. Burks just isn't that good.
