Punch Bowl Re-Filler
I'd do it for Ingram or Simmons. All of GH's family is in the midwest (and that includes in-laws). I think he either signs with Indiana (residence), Boston (because of Stevens) or ONLY considers Utah if he gets that 5 yr max deal with the 7.5% raises. Sorry, Hayward fans, he just isn't worth that much, especially since it will likely mean losing Favors or Hood down the road (Gobert is a lock to stay) and one of Hood/Favors will get a big deal. It's an interesting thought. I would also wait until post lottery, and would probably do it if the pick were top 2. Simmons is the big prize, but I think Ingram has massive potential. His length also fits in extremely well with the roster we look to be trying to build.
Not to mention, moving Hayward's contract - and not having to offer another max deal in the next 1-2 offseasons - makes re-signing the likes of Rudy, Favors, Hood, and/or Exum to big deals more realistic.
PG - Exum
SG - Hood
SF - Ingram
PG - Favors
C - Gobert
Amazing size, length, and athleticism at every position.
I outlined salary and cap scenarios in a different thread. Only way the Jazz can keep the 5 starters (counting Exum over Neto, of course) is if everyone agrees to take less. I just don't see Gordon doing that.
