Trevor Booker for Patrick Patterson and Delon Wright.

Raptors drop 8 million in salary next season and pickup a better backup 4 that brings energy for this years playoff push. They give up the 3rd pg on their depth chart.

Jazz get a 6'6" backup PG on the first year of his rookie deal. We give up a pf that is losing more and more minutes to Lyles.

EDIT: Wright probably starts sometime this season but long term he is a backup pg.

Toronto definitely declines. Bismack Biyombo has been very effective for them off the bench, and he's their energy big.

With DeMarre out they certainly value Patrick Patterson's 3pt shooting. he takes the 4th most 3's on the team.

Having Biyombo and Booker coming off the bench together isn't a great match, and toronto's gonna win the Atlantic again this year making a move like this even more doubtful.

I'm afraid the jazz would have to give up more. I can see Delon being a nice piece to the puzzle here, though, defense-wise.

Hard to see Toronto doing this. Or rather, Toronto doing this where they don't come out the clear-winner. Ujuri has quietly been dominating nearly every scenario he's had to tackle.

But ****, yeah, sounds good to me. Probably have to toss in a couple of the ONE MILLION 2nd rounders the Jazz have, at the least.

Toronto has zero reason to do this... They could move 2Pat in the summer for nothing if they really needed to and Booker plus biyombo is an awful pairing off the bench.

Very good points. Don't forget how important their spacing is for DeRozan. His shooting allows other players to flourish in ways they simply couldn't without him.

For the record, I've never not been enamored with Biyombo (in the right situation/lineup).

My thinking was that they would go after Horford this summer. With Ross' contract set to balloon to 10 million and DeRozan set to opt out next year that's going to be tough. Maybe they can wait until this summer but I think probably not if they intend to go after a free agent. Too many teams feel like they are on the rise and it's going to be a pretty good FA class. Multiple teams will be looking to drop salary or at least not add any in order to chase a player that only one of them can land. The Raptors can probably move Patterson next summer but probably not until after most of the FA market has already been decided.

I would do it and I think the Jazz would but I don't see benefit for Raptors. Only negative for Jazz is that Booker seems to be such a locker-room and chemistry guy who wants to be in Utah. He has had a very positive experience as a free agent coming here and is potentially a good spokesperson for the team in regards to other free agents.
