What's new

Nate Robinson

I'd bet money Nate commands no more than 4 a year. I'd take that too. That's some nice bang for your buck. That's how you should build your team. You gotta find players that you can get good production for cheap.

I think he is better than Mo too.

I love Nate Robinson. He is seriously one of the most underrated players in the leage. He is a free agent. The Jazz should go after him.

haha, I just posted in your other thread about him. How weird is it that he does not ever get more than one year deals, or signed midway through the season?

There are reasons for that.

oh I know. I am not saying he should get ten million per year or anything, but it is kind of crazy that someone doesnt offer him more than just spot minutes. He is probably a bad locker room guy though.

I don't think Nate is a bad locker room guy. I have never heard of that. He doesn't have the leash to be. He just doesn't get paid cuz of his size.

he freelances a bit too much for most coaches, and sometimes just makes stupid plays or takes stupid shots

and he doesn't distribute the ball much at all either

but as far as his locker room influence, for the most part, other players love him - just not always his coaches

Nate is a lot like Mo

Stat-wise he looks a lot like Mo to me: (looking at career numbers)
  • TS% and EFG% exactly the same. within .001 seriously!
  • Nate average 3 more gp per year
  • Nate actually has 3 less apg
  • per36 Nate averages 1.3 ppg
  • clutch efg% this past year both are ~34% (this past year)
  • Steals Rebounds and Blocks close to the same
  • Carreer high pts 44 vs 45

I've always thought he was a streak shooter. Great bench guy, and proved to be very valuable to the Bulls recently. Mo is capable of the same imo and I have been a Mo critic this year.

Ya but Mo costs a lot more.

Nate needs a good coach to keep his *** in line.

It would be much wiser to snag someone along the realms of Jose Calderon, to hopefully mould our incoming drafted PG

He had similar numbers to George Hill, Stuckey, Lin & Dragic who all make in the 7-8 million range. Plus he is peaking and playing his best at the best possible time. Why wouldn't he get 7-8? 10 is probably a stretch though.

Minus he is 5'9 at best.
Minus he is extremely inconsistent year to year.

get him and bench our young guys
get nazr muhammed
get jason collins
get smush parker
get greg ostertag

seriously it wont matter.
nate is put in a good/perfect system.
jazz have no system.
so i think first we need to start with a system and pilosophy.
then get the players.

in a jazz uni this season nate robinson would have sucked major ***

As a backup (he is 3rd string for Bulls), he would have been a vast improvement over Watson/Tinsley.

Besides, we had a system and philosophy: dump it down to Big Al! :p
