Huh?! Fouls and free throws didnt decide this game. The refs did fine. The spurs did not.

Turnovers and rebounds decided this game.

Are you sure.... did you go through the game and look closely at every play?
I remember some plays in the first half when a Heat guy would get free throws on practically no contact, and then a clear foul was missed 5 seconds later on the other end. and I remember some annoying flops from Heat players. a few plays like that can change the game and the momentum in the entire series, change confidence, and change the way the players play.

and the refs can influence turnover and rebounding just as much as they can influence free throws.

The big 3 Neal Leonard and Green were still playing well, and Diaw came in and played well too. Ginobli was the same Ginobli this game that he was the previous 2. I think that the Heat were on the verge of being blown out of this series, and they got a little help in the first half of the last night's game to help get them back in it.... not a huge discrepancy, but a little help, enough to get them back on track.

I feel like the refs have been really good in the playoffs this year.
Seems like lebron has not been getting the star treatment much (maybe someone could find out his free throw attempts per game) and it seems like the refs have been calling things pretty even in general.

I think that we have the two best teams in the league in the finals (with okc missing westbrook) and they are pretty even so this will probably be a long series.

Also I think the refs are getting better at not rewarding flops

Except for the bosh flop from last night.
Overall I think they are doing a pretty damn good job

I would agree that the refs are getting better at not calling every flop, and that this series is being called fairly evenly in comparison to some other series, such as the Heat / OKC series for example.

but if a team flops 10 times more and they get the call 3 times more, that's still 3 extra calls, and it also influences how the players play the rest of the game.

Why? Maybe the Heat fouled more.

Yes, I'm just saying that looking at how many FT's were taken is a good starting off point to get an idea of how a game was reffed, and it was clearly in the Spurs' favor.

Overall, I agree with fish that the Finals have been pretty well reffed. Conspiracy theories about the NBA are very immature and misguided. I'm rooting for the Heat, but if the Spurs win, you won't see me blaming David Stern. If the Spurs win, it's because they deserve it. Same with the Heat.

Nah. the refs routinely influence the outcomes. Admitting reality is not immature. Maybe you are one who is silly , immature, and misguided.

You are retarded. Of course they influence the game, he is saying that thinking that they are intentionally influencing a game a particular direction which someone else has dictated is immature and misguided.

No, I am not retarded, you are. You are both wrong. The refs do influence the game , and the refs are influenced by their employers.
