Since I posted the thread on Al Jefferson's defensive stats, there was some discussion of how to rank a defensive player. Kelly Scaletta (pretty good writer even though it's Bleacher Report) has done a study on the best defensive PG's and SG's through an elaborate statistics model, trying to take into account as many variables as possible. Take a look at his results. He plans to do this for all positions, so expect three more articles. Read some of the comments below on his article if you have questions. Doesn't look good for the Jazz so far.
