NBA Skinny: Trade deadline chatter by Matt Buser @yahoo

I found this to be very Interesting.

This is what he had to say about Utah;

Andrei Kirilenko’s(notes) expiring contract is so substantial ($18 million dollars) that he could be traded for Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson. That’s right, both of them. But the Jazz actually appear prepared to go to battle with the players on their roster and let AK’s contract run its course, and it’s likely that they will do just that.

I don't know if this is what he is hearing or just his thoughts. Or if he is just saying that with the size of Ak contract Utah could take both thoses players as an example. Or if the Bobcats really offered that up?

But if the Bobcats did call utah and asked for Hayward and AK for Wallace, Jackson and Utah said No, I'd be so mad. I think that this trade (if real) would make Utah Elite! Whats your guys thoughts?

I wouldnt do this deal... Wallace is as injury prone as AK & Jax has too much baggage.

How about this trade chatter??
AK/Hayward/Elson for Iggy/Hawes/Kapono

For one thing this is in the fantasy section. Secondly, would they trade Wallace for a rental. Would we include a 20yr old who we have high hopes for them? if you think our offense stagnates with jefferson, it will really bog down with jackson.

I think they would trade to release them because of there long term deals. If money issues is the driving factor, to making the trade? And I'd give up Hayward anyday for Wallace (who is AK Jr, with a more reasonable contract) and Jackson is the scorer that we have been missing.

And if theres anytime to make a trade, I think its now. If we can get 2 solid Vets to show Dwill we want to win and win right now I think this would be the trade.

I like AI but his shooting is worst then AK. And we would be kicking ourselves in 3 years, that the Jazz our still paying him 16 or 17 million. I don't think hes worth the gamble, but I do like him as a player.

I hate the OP. Fantasy or not, this idea has me all excited. AK and Bell for SJax and Wallace would be ideal. I think it would get us below the LT. And like someone else said, we'd be tough, badass, Wallace would be catching alley-oops from Deron. We'd be locking down Wade and Lebron. We'd still have Chucker and Hayward off the bench. Still have Millsap and Jefferson. God if we did this, I'd consider moving to Utah.

Wallace has a more manageable contract? AK's ends this year. Wallace has a player option for 2012-2013 for 10.5 million. He's around the same age Memo was when he got the two year extension for pretty much the same exact price. Wallace has a similar stat line to Okur from a couple years ago. The only difference is Memo had less of an injury history than Wallace does now. So basically, Wallace is Okur from two years ago. And two more years at 21 million is good?

Jackson is owed just shy of 20 million for two more years, so the trade, if it was straight up, would be, if you remove this year's salary, 0 dollars for 0 years for 4 years, 41 million dollars.

Jazz would have 70 million dollars invested in 6 players. The Jazz would hope and pray for a lockout were that the scenario. It's a terrible trade financially. Both players are having down years, shooting horribly, Jackson shooting worse than Miles, and Wallace slightly better. Not sure if it's a great trade basketball wise, either.

Yea this trade is a fantasy. The Jazz would be moronic to say no to that trade. Bell, and Ak for Wallace and Jackson would be a Gasol type of deal for the Jazz.

Okay after reading Darkwing's post I guess I did not realize the financial issues were that extreme. I would still want the Jazz to do this trade but they would have serious financial issues if they did.

Why would Charlotte have Bell in the deal? They traded him last year, and Larry Brown isn't on the team anymore, and Bell has a contract for 3 more years and this trade would obviously be financial for them. Not directed at you, but people need to actually think of implications for the other team rather than having their heads up their own asses.

I just took that from a previous post. Pretty much included him to relieve some of our wing problems if we add 2 wing players. But your probably right they would not want him.

I want to get rid of Bell. Although he has played better lately and I would actually like him if he was getting 15-20 instead of 35+.

Again, wasn't meant at you. You're just replying to something that was put in already.

Charlotte has no incentive to take Bell. This type of trade filler, should Charlotte request one, would require Heyward or Watson. Watson expires. Heyward is a young asset.

Right, more acknowledged at me. But if you read my post, I already admitted it's a fantasy and would be awesome in what is obviously a fantasy world frame of mind. Relax dude.

Understood, I was just explaining myself a little bit. And I agree with you. But if it was Hayward or Watson included instead of Bell I don't think I would be as quick to back the trade. Part of the incentive to do this deal (for the Jazz) and take on this many financial problems would be unloading a little bit of the money they are already paying for the wing position. I would love to include Price and Bell but do not know if Charlotte would have any interest in Price either.
