"NBA Superstars"

I had this old VHS tape back in the 90s called "NBA Superstars." It was a collection of music videos the NBA had put together for different players. I recently tracked down a DVD version after ditching my VHS player years ago. In any case, of course most of the videos are on YouTube now, so I thought I'd post some of them for others to enjoy.

This first one is a video for some of the NBA old-timers. It's a cool little overview of some greats. The other videos are each about one specific player.

NBA Superstars 2 was my favorite VHS as a 7-year old - subsequently how I found out about Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz, and became a lifelong die hard fan of the Jazz.

Yeah, the second one was good as well. The only thing I didn't like was that they started intercutting the videos with shots of the band playing, along with silly little messages. The videos became less pure that way -- it wasn't just music and basketball, but music and basketball and a whole lot of other crap.

Still the Malone video is pretty good. Here it is:

Was there ever a more awkward dribbler in the open court than Karl Malone? Dude had to watch every dribble to make sure it came back up to his hand.
