I want to take my date to the Red Iguana for dinner. I've heard great things about it. Money isn't an issue because my dad said he'll pay for it, but he said he thought Mexican food was a bad idea if we planned on partying and what not afterwards.

If anyone can offer some help on nice restaurants in SLC, or if you've been to the Red Iguana and want to offer a review, it would be a big help.

Red Iguana is awesome but its not that classy, like its probably not classy enough for prom. If money isn't an option go to market street grill, or Ruth's Chris, or Benihanas or something along those lines.

What are peoples recommendations on what to get at the Red Iguana?

Tacos Don Ramon and Enchiladas Suizas are my wife and I's go to dishes, but I really have never had anything I didn't really llike.

...wait

I AM NOT THE YOUNGEST BOARD MEMBER ANYMORE!!!! HA-HA!!!!

EDIT: sorry kid, I can't really contribute. I live a few thousand kilometres north of you.

Tacos Don Ramon is one of my regular selections. It's pretty simple and not too pricey but a notch or so better than tacos you'd get most places. My family also likes to get the seafood platter "Parrillada" and share it along with a few other items. It comes with a lobster tail, tuna filet, crab salad, grilled shrimp and scallops. They cook seafood just right.

What Red Iguana is special for, however, is the mole. If you go there and get enchiladas expect well made enchiladas, or what not. From all the rave reviews it would be very possible to eat there and wonder what the big deal about Red Iguana is all about. So if you want to experience what Red Iguana is all about get the mole. My wife gets a pork tenderloin dish "Lomo De Puerco En Mole De Almendras" that is smothered in mole. The presentation on this dish is top notch and it is absolutely delicious. I prefer the Mole Amarillo. A little more simple, spicy yellow mole and some chicken with tortillas, but just as tasty.

Oh and they also serve beer from Epic Brewery. Best brewery I know of, no exaggeration, and it is in SLC.

Thanks man, really do appreciate all the info. Just what I was looking for. To be honest I've never had mole before, but just going off the menu ingredients it sounds amazing. Thanks!

Question, are black people only allowed to have the Mole Negro? I'd feel racist ordering it

I've never been there, but the menu makes it look like an anti-Betos of sorts, so you might be alright. The sit down joints are usually okay. It's the 6 lb burritos packed with food that's been sitting in their storage for 2 years that you grab through a broken drive-thru window that you have to watch out for.

But I've always been told that farting in front of a girl elevates your relationship. Like if you're just prom dates going into the night, if you fart in front of her, you guys are officially boyfriend and girlfriend after that.

Well if your gonna stoop down this low for your date...... after she finishes eating, take your dominant hand and bring it to the other side of your body, and give her a nice bitch slap

I know someone who spent 900 dollars for prom including the suit, the limo, the dinner. Hookers are cheaper.

Some people definitely go way overboard. When a certain Master MLMer's kid was in high school here a few years back, he let their group Gulfstream it to Disneyland for their day activity, then they popped back into prom that same night back in Utah.
