What's new

Netflix recs?

I can't agree more. Worst Superman movie by far.
I wouldn’t go that far. Superman IV is all-time bad. III isn’t good nor is the one with Routh.

This just had no tone or mood. I didn’t care about anyone. The lead was solid. So was Lois. Hoult wasn’t bad but as always he brings nothing to the table and yet he continues to be cast. I’m convinced he’s someone’s cuck. It was far too loud and actiony and dark. IMO of course. And maybe it’s worst issue is it’s just another Superman film with Lex Luthor. I’m done with him. Bring something else new to the table.

I was getting more at the iteration of Superman not necessarily the actual movie, so I should have clarified. Yeah some of those sequels were terrible but Reeves iteration of Superman was leaps and bounds better.

Reeves WAS Superman. So long ago now I'm sure many if not most don't even know what we're talking about.

Half an hour into “Untamed” and you got an Aussie (Bana) and a Kiwi (Sam Neil) doing their best to imitate American accent and trying to solve a murder on the Yosemite.

I just can’t help but laugh.. lol..

This is like watching Kate Winslet (English) trying to solve the murder on the Mare of Easttown all over again.

yeah that was such strange casting

Yeah casual fans especially. But he was fantastic. Brought a quiet dignity to the role that it needs.

Also a little pet peeve of mine…

Why is it always the white hero/heroine trying to solve a murder with a minority race actor/actress as the side kick (or lesser roles)?

- Bana with Untamed… (Latino sidekick)

- Foster with True detective (American Indian characters)

- Daniel Craig with Knives out (the Latino help)

- The Residence - detective is black but side kick is Asian.

Is this like a new “trend” or something?
LOL.. Bana’s Latino sidekick actually got called a “sidekick” by another character in Ep 4 … lol..

Great writing to drive home the point!!!

Unbelievable.

Ok have just finished Untamed.

Bana really carried the load here,.. didn't think he had it in him. He really embraced the role.

The first 4 episodes were kinda meh for me… I mean the acting, filming and production were fine, it was just really slow story wise.

Then they sorta tried to fit about 4 episodes worth of story into the final 2.. felt really rushed at the end.

Would have been better as an 8 episodes series but oh well, maybe they ran out of money and had to cut out some scenes.

Interested to see where the series go next as Season 2 had officially been announced.

I finished Untamed. Thought it was pretty good. Really liked the juxtaposition between the guy whose child got killed and the guy who killed his child.
