Neto signs 3 year deal w/ club in Spain

I can think of Pau Gasol for one. He didn't come over for a long time. Aarvidis Sabonis. Ilgauskas. Splitter. I think that there are plenty of examples of 'older' Europlayers coming over deeper into their prime.

But did they come over when drafted, or were the stashed?

seems alot of good euros came over at an older age.

How old were calderon, bellinelli, barbosa, dirk, and manu when they were rookies? (i have no idea but it seems like they were older than the usual draft pick)

Good point, but if you wait until they ARE good enough to come over to draft them then you might miss out on them.

Maybe euros are better off entering the nba in thier mid 20's rather than thier teens so its a good strategy to draft them (with a crappy draft pick anyway, taking away risk) before they are read and then let them develop before bringing them over.

A reporter was saying that the buyout is reasonable. I think it was tony jones.

They just want to space out the young guys contracts. Smart move. Let him develop on others dime.

That's smart if they were able to work out a reasonable buyout on a 3 yr deal. I wonder how they worked that, had to have been Neto's agent.

Well, if true that is good. Hopefully we will see him in a Jazz uni at some point.

That gives Exum a couple years to become what most of us expect. Then we could trade Trey for an asset while bringing over Neto to back up Exum.

This is perfect. We have two prospect PG's. If they both turn out to be starters in a few years, then move one and bring Neto over.

Like mentioned above, this is draft and stash to perfection. I'd love to be able to have the DL work this way. Use all those second rounders, put them in Idaho, develop them, bring them up when needed.
