New Cell Phone

Hey @Ron Mexico

What do you like/dislike about your Pixel 2?

Thanks boo.
I like the camera. I like that's it's Android so... Easy to use for me. I like the size, because it matters. I like how fast it is.

I don't love the memory size despite it not being an issue. It's got some hiccups switching between WiFi and cell towers sometimes but that might be my carrier project fi/Google.

You're welcome buttercup.

Check out the OnePlus, I believe the latest model is the 6T. It's phenomenal, a current day flagship level phone (or just under) for much cheaper. T-Mobile is the only carrier that has it, but if you buy it outright, it should work on Verizon.

Verizon and T-Mobile have different “interfaces” (don’t know if that’s the right word). T-Mobile phones won’t work on Verizon’s system. T-Mobile phones have the external SIM card that Verizon doesn’t use.

@RandyForRubio i strongly suggest you do some research on the OnePlus 6T phone.

Im looking to buy a new phone within the next few weeks and did tons of research. The OnePlus 6T is the phone i will be getting. It compares quite closely to all the brand bew top of the line phones but only costs just over half the price of those other phones. Its actually faster than the new i phones and new samsungs.

Dont know your price range, and its still pricey at about $550 dollars, but much less than the $1100 dollar iPhone and $1000 dollar samsung note.

Seems like a really amazing phone at a good price for what you get.

@Ron Mexico Any issues with your screen?
I dropped mine a ton without a case and it held up fine for awhile. But eventually one of them chipped the glass a little in the corner and had a tiny hairline crack that goes a quarter of the way down. But everything else with the screen has been great. I have insurance on it. I should swap it out but it hasn't really bugged me. I'm surprised how durable it is.

Ok great. I had heard some talk about the screens burning out or not looking “sharp”. Maybe that’s just the XL. Pretty sure most things will look better than my iPhone SE lol.

Yeah, that is the bad reviews I saw about the XL. They said the screens just had a weird tinting to them after awhile. Mine has looked sharp and great the whole time. I have had it since the Pixel 2 came out and have had 0 issues.

Thanks Fish. I think I’m gonna go Pixel 2 or Pixel 3, just see what deals come for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Great phones. You will love either one.

I want a note 9 but that **** is hella pricey. Hoping for some great black friday deal

I have two Note 8's and they've been good. From what I've read the 9 isn't much of an upgrade or worth the money.

Things I like are the size, 64 gigs is plenty for me but also a must as 16 and 32 can fill up way too fast, they charge fast enough, and they've been reasonably durable. My kids use one and have only cracked one corner slightly. No screen protectors or cases. It is pretty sleek and fits in my pocket ok. My iPhone 6s is just a tad smaller but with a case it's just too big. Plus, the Samsung doesn't cut out nearly as much screen as the iPhone. The screen is almost an inch longer but the phone only 1/8 inch longer.

The biometrics kinda suck. At first I thought it could use a pen. When I finally realized it has one I didnt find any use for it. The screen fades is some apps after a while and I havent figured out how to stop that from happening. I'd like wireless charging too for all my devices but this one isnt capable. I'd probably look for that in my next upgrade, which hopefully wont be for years. I dont see why I would need or even want anything better. If mine breaks beyond repair I'll look for a late model that's cheaper.

Yo Fish.

Google Store is having a Black Friday deal where the Pixel 3 will be $650. I think the 3 XL is $699, but I don't like phones that big. Pretty good deal. Also some deals where you can buy one at full price, and get another one half off. Another deal where you buy one at full price and get a Google Nest or something ($150 value) and $50 store credit. I don't want any of those extras, so I think I'll just go with the $650 Pixel 3...$150 off regular price!
