New Logo/Unis next year?

From memory, the current primary logo is still the mountain (albeit in green), and the secondary is the Note. The NBA charges teams $500,000 to change from the mountain to the note completely and the Jazz have been putting off changing for a while now but it seems they'll do this change next year. They've announced this change a while ago now, so this is not really new news.


If you watch ESPN shows/broadcasts, you'll see that they're still using green mountain logo as the Jazz logo.
 
I believe the NBA will only allow you to change your logo and uniforms so often, so the Jazz have been stuck with the Mountain logo. I think the primary has to be on the uni somewhere so it is on the belt. Enough time has passed that they can get rid of the mountain logo altogether, which, for all uniform purposes they already did.

It does open up the secondary log slot, however if the current secondary becomes primary. . .

I have been thinking the same thing when I hear people say being back the note, get rid of the mountains.

I think that's the idea. IIRC, when they brought back the note they couldn't do it as a primary logo. Aah...I see a link to an article explaining why (big fee to make a change). So out with the mountains and in with the note. I kind of like the mountains, but was never fond of the copper and black iteration. Nor did I like the powder blue unis. Those were generic and boring.

Agree with you: the uniforms they have now are great. They can have the mountains as an alternate.
