These losses just get more painful. Great effort, but this is just unbearable. Awful about West. I can't remember hearing a dude scream like that in agony. I fear the worst.
 
was at the game tonight. though a horrible loss, retarded circumstances, i was stoked on gtime, good shooting night, 3 blocks? he looked a lot more confident.
 
I did not like the strategy last night of taking the easy two and the end of OT. You need a 3 to give yourself a GOOD chance to win in that situation. We kept getting two and fouling and never came close to catching up. You make one 3 and you change the equation. Of course if you miss you likely lose, but you also likely lose with the take two and foul strategy.

And for them the key play in OT was getting a 3 ball, when CP got in the lane and was open but kicked it to an open Ariza for a comfortable 3.

And why was Smell in there when we needed to score? Oh, yeah, we needed him for 45 minutes. Why Ty, why?
 
Tough loss but entertaining game. One question though, why the hell did Ty take Miles out just when he was starting to play well, driving to the hoop and getting some good scores, and put Raja Fail back in the game? God, I hope they ship this guy's *** out the door in the off season so Corbin won't be tempted to play him anymore. As inconsistent as Miles is, he brings so much more than Smell does.

Bell is just absolutely horrible.

On another issue, I'd like to see Gordon be less hesitant to shoot. There were a few times last night when he had the shot but elected to pass. Granted a couple of those times turned into assists, but I want to see the guy have confidence in his shot. There was one time in particular in overtime when he had a wide open look from about 15 or so but passed it off.
 
The Raja rationale was Jack was playing well. He probably also felt more comfortable with Raja having to switch on Paul than CJ. The problem with that strategy is Bell has been routinely torched by drivers this year. He's basically lost that part of his defensive game. So there isn't much benefit to having him out there guarding guys who want to drive first, find shots in the offense second. I get Ty's decision to a point, but the lesson we should be learning is Bell's defensive value is a shadow of what it once was, and his one dimensional offensive skillset is too limited to leave on the floor for long stretches.

Bell's veteran leadership and toughness has clearly won us a lot of games this year. He must be in til the end. If the almighty Jesus intervenes one of his shots may go in.

I thought Hayward played solid D last night. That's one aspect of his game that appears to me to have really come along. (I totally disagree with the ESPN analyst who wrote the Hayward was an obviously bad defender.) Gordo, did, kind of lose Ariza last night leading to his wide open 3 that cost the Jazz toward the end of the game.

You had to love it when Gordo swatted away Pauls' breakaway layup, although on the inbound he lost his guy who scored an easy bucket. Sigh, the Good Lord Giveth and Taketh Away.

Frankly, I think at this point right now, Hayward is a better defender than both Bell and Miles, although in the latter case this may not be saying much.
 
There wasn't any question Hayward was going to stay on the floor. The choice was Bell or Miles with AK out. Either that or Ty goes small with Price/Watson.
