Also what about rep that is based onsomething other than BBall knowledge or jokes?

That's why, with the help of PKM, we have refined this to:

FunCont (funny contribution rating)

SrsCont (serious contribution rating, can be anything from serious bball analysis to contribution to a serious GD topic)


You, or Core4, or GVC for example, would have a very high SrsCont rating and therefore would be respected for that.


Guys like HeyHey, Hack, etc, would have a higher FunCont rating and and I guess they'll be fine with that too. But this system does give them an incentive to "lift their game" a little bit at times and post more serious analysis to get a higher SrsCont rating if they do so wish.

Well it would just really be 1 extra line showing the 2 rep categories. For example:

Instead of the current display of:

Rep Power: 22

It would show:

Bball Cont Rep Power: 8
Fun Cont Rep Power: 16

They weren't meant to add up obviously. It was merely meant to show how it would split into FunCont and SrsCont, etc.


Don't tell me you neg'd me for the stupid maths.

well, maybe not a bad idea, for those who care at least - - it'd be nice though if the system could organize it automatically - - any rep given to a post in a thread in the Jazz or NBA forum would show as a BBall rep and any rep given to a post in the General Discussion forum would show as a General rep. And then rep for posts in any personal forum would also show up as Personal rep.

although I really don't care that much anyhow.

and since i'm a moderator, my opinion counts double...

Yeah except it would be more fun, I think, if you could choose whether you wanted to add to someone's FunCont or SrsCont.... THEN you get to see what their resulting Rep Split is as a result which is even more fun.
