San Antonio is all drive and kick. We don't have the shooters for that (though I wouldn't mind seeing the corner 3 become part of our offense anyway.) But we've got 3 guys who can drive and pass off the dribble assuming Burks is ready. Strange as it sounds, a lot of teams don't have that. We just need to be less PG dominant and play more mismatches out on the floor. Like, if Tony Allen is guarding CJ, you run more PnR through Hayward to pick on Mayo or Young. That kind of thing. Carlisle gave the whole basketball world a lesson last season in tweaking your system night after night to beat the opponent in front of you. They posted Marion against the Blazers, killed the Lakers with PnR, and so on.

Do we really not have the shooters for that? We don't have Bowen, Barry or Carrottop but Hayward, Miles and Bell...ah ****...nevermind.

We don't have the shooters to run San Antonio's offense. San Antonio builds their team around specialty wings who can shoot. Ginobili is their only wing who can drive and they set all kinds of high screens for him. Not classic PnR's because with him, the idea is just to give him a path and let him shoot his guns and fly his ships.

But San Antonio is an interesting comparison for a different reason. They have one wing who can drive. Most teams in the league have maybe 2 guys who can drive, but they can't necessarily pass. They're just drivers. We have 3 guys on the roster who can drive AND pass. That's pretty rare. Even more rare is having two of those guys on the court at the same time. So you can play mismatches a lot better. Even better is the fact we will often have some trio of Harris, Hayward, CJ, and Burks on the floor. That's 3 guys who have drive and pass skills. If you're creative, and I hope Ty is, you can do some interesting things with guys that have those skillsets.

Unfortunately, none of our guys who can do that are in the Ginobili class, they're all young, and there will be ugliness. But if you find the right system of off the ball movement, multiple guys who can drive and dish can wreak havoc because you're always picking on the weak links defensively.
