Aaron Hernandez best year was 910 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.

Bennett has 544 yards and 4 touchdowns......with 4 games left in the season.

When all said and done Bennett will be in the ballpark of Hernandez BEST year....but at minimum will be around Hernandez career average.

I win. You lose.

So you think Bennett is going to get 400 yards and 3 tds in the last 4 games? I guess it's possible, but he hasnt been trending up. He has 40 yards in his last 3 games. I think we can all agree the "elite" tag has to come with better consistency than what Bennett has shown.

Bennett is 8th in yards for TE's and tied for 9th in TD's. This is with arguably the best QB in the NFL that has a TE friendly offense. He is more of just a slightly above average offensive TE this season.

Do they play the Browns again??

He's performing at the same level as most "elite" TE's.

The original argument that Beanclown made was that Bennett was the "new Hernandez". He made that argument at a time when Bennett wasn't being used anything like Hernandez, and he seemed to hope that very simple statistical arguments would bail him out (in his own mind, of course). Now that the stats aren't even bailing him out and he's just doubling down on them?... Well that's just pathetic. Par for the course, though.

(And he also won't acknowledge that Hernandez made his impact on the Patriots right as he came into the league -- not after years of NFL experience. But whatever. Damn the truth. Elect Beanclown!)

Wrong. My argument was that the Patriots traded for Bennett to start using more of the two-tight end offensive set plays that McDaniels ran when Hernandez was on the team....and therefore I was excited about the transaction.

Kind of a head scratcher that you waste so much of your time debating Patriots tight-ends with me. Your life sounds super exciting.
