No Barnes = Weaker Draft, so would you sell back NJ's 1st?

It doesn't really change much for the Jazz, because Barnes would be picked third. So unless the lottery balls fell our way, Barnes entrance would have just pushed another Euro down to us. Chances are now only one of the three elite euros will be on the board (Kanter, Jonas, Biyombo). The only non euro pick worth taking at 6 is Knight. Just say no to Walker and Jones. It will prob look something like this.

Irving
Williams
Jonas
Knight
Kanter
Jazz (Biyombo or any of the above not picked yet)

totally agree

Biyombo is not a Euro, he is African. How would you feel if someone called you a Canadian when you are from America?

Why suck another year? I could care less about the 2012 draft. I want to watch the Jazz compete right away.

Well - you can't help it if there's no decent player to choose from!

Also imagine a shortened season - say 40 games - it could be short and painless. Before you know it ...

whoof! It's DRAFT TIME!!!

And just imagine who'll be available - Sullinger, Barnes, Jones, Rivers, etc, etc..

Indiana made the playoffs with just 37 wins. Deron was hurt when he was traded and the Nets still had a shot. Humphries has finally matured and is doing the dirty work and there's a dominat 5 and 1 in place. I'd be shocked if they DON'T make the playoffs next season - unless they purposely stand pat to go after the bigger fish in 2012.

Barnes doesn't make or break the draft. There are still some very good players available. Maybe not stars, but decent complementary pieces.

Lopez is a dominant 5? Okay.

Complimentary pieces? We have the 6th and the 12th picks and we want to settle for complimentary pieces? Jesus. You win with stars in this league. Those are tough to find and Barnes could be one. Don't dismiss the chance to get him. We can get complimentary pieces via free agency or in the 2nd round.

You'd be shocked if the Nets don't make the playoffs? That's absurd. Surprised I could buy but to make it sound as if they have everything in place to easily make the playoffs is ridiculous. Boston (even as old as they are), Orlando, Miami, and Chicago are locks to make the playoffs. I think Atlanta and the Knicks are just about locks too. That leaves two spots. I personally think Indy is much, much better (and deeper) than NJ so they'd be my 7th team. Who knows what to think of the Sixers? I could see them falling out of the playoffs but there's no reason to say they couldn't make it again, or that Milwaukee couldn't get back in. I could see Washington making a solid leap next year. Heck, Charlotte and Detroit had better records than the Nets this year too. There's way too many teams who have proven something with W's to think NJ's a lock to get in next year, though I could see it.

Nets will make playoffs next year. Barnes is NOT worth trying to tank a season or trade picks til next year anyway. BPA and go with it..

Jone Rivers? I thought she was old and made of plastic.

I would love to have Lopez on our team. He is a solid center. He could still become dominant, but even now definitely a top tier big man.
