carolinaJazz was right... No one cares about the dunk contest..this includes the people in charge of picking the participants, as they clearly **** the bed on this one.
 
The dunk contest has been a joke for years now. They should just get rid of it.
 
The worst part about it is that the gimmicks within the dunk contest will probably be at an all-time high now because these guys know their limitations. I'm a big fan of the old school contests because they were just about dunking.
 
It's amazing how irrelevant the dunk contest has become. I don't get it why won't the stars compete in this event. Back in the golden age of the NBA these players embraced the dunk contest. The Dominique Wilkins MJ battles were amazing those guys embraced the competition, and the challenge to be the best.

Hey LeBron do you want to be loved again? Then enter the damn contest and put on a show for the fans!

It's because guys like 'Nique and MJ cared about the sport and the league and wanted the word to get out. They were smart and knew that by helping the league succeed, the fans would fill up the stands, and they would get more money.

Players like Bron'bron and Melo, Durant, etc. etc. don't care about the NBA's image or the fans. It's all about their bank account. And they've got their slimeball agents reminding them that if they get injured doing this "exhibition" that they'll take the hit financially more than anything. Plus, these new gen guys know that even if the stands are empty they still will get paid regardless. It's not in their interest to care about the fans.
 
I don't know about you guys but Griffin dunking over the hood of a car last year was absolutely crazy! That's like me jumping over a night stand on an 8ft hoop and everyone going crazy. It's seriously the biggest joke. I blame Dwight Howard for the down fall of the dunk contest. Him and Nate Robinson.
