I did watch. Tucker played tough D. KD set an all time NBA record for scoring in a game 7.
That's the thing. Today's nba has such good offensive players plus the fact that the rules and the officiating greatly favor the offensive players that good defenders get neutered somewhat. Strictly defensive players (especially non rim protectors) with no offensive game aren't as valuable as they should be and once were. 2 way players are where it's at imo.
And there really are two sides on a basketball court. Tucker is really bad on one side of the court. And it's fine to say I know nothing about basketball or tucker or whatever. But what about nba GM's? Do they also know nothing? Was there a huge bidding war for tuckers services? Was he one of the most sought after players in NBA history? I mean he is the key to everything. He would have single handedly got the jazz to the western conference finals. A player like that must be making about what, 30 million per year or something right?
So far in these playoffs he is literally having his worst playoffs off his entire career statistically. Now these stats don't show defense and maybe he is peaking defensively at age 36. I don't know. But like I said, his man set an NBA record for scoring last night..... And then was shut down after tucker fouled out. And the game today is just extremely favorable to offensive players.
He is averaging less points with worse shooting splits, less rebounds, less assists in these playoffs than in any other playoffs in his career. Maybe he isn't totally washed (38 minutes last night is impressive) but he certainly isn't peaking either.
