Big? They had two guys taller than 6'7" even suit up. They started Xavier Tillman at center.
Their problem is they dont have anyone but JJJ who can protect the paint or rebound (and JJJ isnt great at the latter) so they constantly overcommit as a team to collapsing which left our guys open on the perimeter. Thats a recurring theme for them and the main reason they have allowed 2nd most 3 point attempts against despite playing from behind.
Against us that problem was really emphasized because of our big front court and drive happy guards.
I think the idea itself isn't too bad. We will see how it pans out. My hope is that it becomes a sort of early season bellwether and teams use it to both stake a claim to contending and to figure out what they may need to do with their rosters.
I don't want to jinx our bench (for some reason I feel those guys are extremely vulnerable to jinxing) but I'll say we should definitely win this one. "Mad Lauri" may make an appearance
But the postulate of "jinxing" is metaphysics on overdrive! A mysterious, mystical notion not directly observable used to explain the observable phenomena, in this case, benches. No Sir. As an empiricist, I stand against such an idea.
