Game Thread Nov 13, 2022 05:30PM MT: Jazz at 76ers

I really hate the "There were other factors" argument because it could be applied to literally any loss ever.

Obviously there were other factors. But there was one very very very massive one that had an extremely obvious potential solution and the Jazz didn't even try it.

I'll buy the "other factors" argument more once the extremely glaring one isn't so glaring.
The poor offense was a bigger factor to me that Embiid scoring a bunch. We shot 39% from the field and couldnt make anything we shot barely over 50% from the FT line.. 76ers also sucked on offense, we just sucked more. All we needed was to make a couple shots in the final few minutes. So yeah other factors is a thing for this one, Fatigue is a huge one for this game. Rotations were slow, shots came up short everywhere that was a giant glaring problem. Embiid and the 76ers scoring 105 which is below there average and pretty poor showing offensively isnt the biggest factor in this one.

Shocking Hardy did absolutely nothing in the 4th on Embiid.

Truly baffled.

Will took out Vanderbilt and put in Olynyk trying to space the floor. Embiid stayed near the paint and stuffed our guys anyway. I think the goal was to try to pull Embiid out and give guys like Sexton and Lauri some room to drive. Didn't happen though.

Kinda funny that most of us wanted them to tank last month.

Now we are all pissed about losing a close game in Philly on the 2nd night of a back to back on the road against one of the better teams in the EC.

FWIW Jazz have played 15 games which is the most in the NBA. 10 of those games have been on the road. I would say they have a reason to be a little tired.

Hardy probably should've tried something different(Kessler?) against Embiid. He also destroyed the Hawks last night so the Jazz weren't the only team to get cooked this weekend.

Also, the Jazz are clearly not a road team. We are 5-5 currently and I expect us to be below .500 on the road for the season.

I am going to assume that Hardy had a reason. At this point he has earned some benefit of doubt.

I'm fairly certain he isn't stupid, even though I would have tried Kessler. In general, however, they have tried to hide Kessler from MVP type guys. It's a developmental decision and what they are doing has mostly worked thus far, so. . .

He wants to space the floor with Olynyk and Lauri as the bigs, so our guards have room to drive and create. Tonight though Embiid stayed in drop and Philly's perimeter players tried to rotate.

God I still remember that pathetic Sexton layup attempt on Embiid with Clarkson wide open in the corner. THT makes that pass or yams it on Embiid.

I still think Mike shoud have sit tonight. But i can understand Hardy. Mike the the better playmaker by far on this team (with THT). JC and Sexton together are not a good combination for me, not enough passing. But we were tired, we have the toughest schedule and play more games than any other team in NBA. Not a big deal. We will bounce back..
